The Flaming Lips Put 'Space Bubble' Concerts on Hold Due to Spike in Covid-19 Cases

    Facebook

The Wayne Coyne-fronted band have been forced to postpone their upcoming concerts in hometown of Oklahoma because of the rising coronavirus cases in the city.

    Dec 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Flaming Lips have postponed their “space bubble” concerts amid a worrying rise in the number of cases of Covid-19 in Oklahoma.
Following an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” in June (20) – with the band and fans all encased in plastic bubbles during the performance – the group had been due to stage “the world’s first actual Space Bubble live concerts” in their hometown of Oklahoma City in December (20).
However, the shows have now been postponed to 22 and 23 January (21), with frontman Wayne Coyne telling Rolling Stone that they made the tough decision to reschedule because of the increase of coronavirus cases in the town.

“It’s worse here than it’s ever been,” he said. “We know of an emergency room worker just a couple of nights ago who said someone came in, and they didn’t have any place for them, and they died, and they shouldn’t have died. They were a young person. The mayor is advising us, ‘Let’s not get together in big groups’ … I think we’re just feeling like this is going against what our concerts are really about.”
“If you have to get on a plane, find a hotel – that’s a lot of areas that aren’t our concert. So we’re hoping by the third week in January that all this activity around New Year’s Eve and Christmas will have started to play out. Then we might be able to be in a stable position when we can say, ‘Let’s try to do these space bubble concerts.’ ”
Coyne added the group are going to do their utmost to “work it out” to stage the shows in January, but concluded, “I don’t want anybody to think this is some kind of f**king freak party. It’s a very restricted, weird event. But the weirdness is so we can enjoy a concert before putting our families and everybody at risk. And I think it can actually work, but just not when it’s this serious here.”

Rita Ora's Songs Banned on Radio Station After She Broke Covid-19 Lockdown Rules

    Instagram

A radio DJ in a U.K. station has refused to play any of the ‘Hot Right Now’ singer’s music after she violated coronavirus guidelines for hosting a party with a group of friends.

    Dec 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pop star Rita Ora’s illegal birthday party during the U.K.’s coronavirus lockdown has prompted one local radio host to take her music off his breakfast show playlist.
Radio Exe DJ Ben Clark has chosen to blacklist the “Anywhere” hitmaker after she and a group of friends gathered at a London restaurant to celebrate her 30th birthday over the weekend (28Nov20), in a breach of the government’s ban on parties and social occasions.
After playing her song “I Will Never Let You Down” on Tuesday, Clark told listeners he won’t be playing any more of Rita’s music in the future during his slot on the station, based in Devon, England.

Speaking on air, he vowed, “I can’t speak for any other Radio Exe presenter, but as of now, for the foreseeable future, I’m not playing any of her songs.”
“You can’t get your head round it can you? The mind boggles. My 11-year-old daughter said to me the other night, ‘Dad, can one of my friends come round after school?’ ‘No! We’re in a lockdown!’ If an 11 year old can get her (head) round it then surely Rita can… If you’re a big Rita Ora fan I’m sure even you can see where I’m coming from.”
The DJ’s decision comes after Rita paid a hefty fine following the Metropolitan Police investigation into the event that took place at the Casa Cruz restaurant in London on Saturday.
Ora also took to social media to apologise for her “serious and inexcusable” error of judgement amid the coronavirus crisis, and has since pulled out of a planned TV appearance on Britain’s “The Jonathan Ross Show”.

Lil Nas X Almost Missed Out on 'Old Town Road' Blessings Due to 'What Other People Were Saying'

    Facebook

The country music hip-hop star admits he was ready to move on and ‘throw out’ his mega-hit single only months after the release back in 2018 before it went viral.

    Dec 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lil Nas X was “ready to throw out” his mega-hit “Old Town Road” months after its release.
The country trap song went viral in March 2019 and remained at the top of the chart all the way through to summer, while in April (20), Billy Ray Cyrus jumped on a remix of the track, only adding to its popularity.
However, the 21-year-old rapper has admitted he felt ready to move on and show his fans what else he can do soon after “Old Town Road” came out.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s ‘At Home With’ series, he confessed, “Old Town Road didn’t stop being number one until August, I think, of 2019, and I was already ready to throw it out the window in June last year.”
“And I was so ready to move on from it because of what other people were saying that I almost missed out on even bigger blessings from it.”

During quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Grammy-winner says he’s become a better songwriter and made it his aim to show the real him behind the characters he presents through his music.
“I found better, healthier ways to create. Little things, like taking much more time with my lyrics and putting more into the concept of whatever the song I am making,” he explained. “Because I used to go to the studio, make the song, I’m out. Never go back to it, never work on it again. It worked, but it’s like, that wasn’t the move.”
“If I can do that without doing that, what can I do beyond that? Another thing with quarantine I decided I wanted to do was definitely give people more of an insight of me beyond the characters I portrayed.”

And on what fans can expect from his upcoming debut album, he teased, “This album exuberates confidence, creativity. Just me completely stepping out of my comfort zone and saying whatever I want and giving my actual stories, giving my fans something to take from me.”

Chase Rice Faces Outrage for Joking He Has Covid-19 While Announcing New Single

    Instagram

The country music singer comes under fire for joking that he has contracted coronavirus while promoting his new single ‘Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen’.

    Dec 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chase Rice has once again sparked backlash from fans after joking he has the coronavirus to promote his new single.
The country star was highlighting the release of his “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen” collaboration with Florida Georgia Line on Twitter on Sunday (29Nov20) when he wrote, “Just lost my taste and smell. Weird. Also, dropping a single at midnight.”
However, Rice’s followers were less impressed with his tweet, with one writing, “Hey first off I hope you’re not sick but if you’re not damn it I have Covid right (now) don’t be joking around about this c**p cause I’m struggling to catch my breath at times to a point I feel like I’m about to pass out, Don’t be using a pandemic to rise sales of a dang song!”
Another replied, “Chase I’m very disappointed at this apparent ‘joke’ as it really isn’t funny. I’ve lost my taste and smell since March (9 months!) and quite frankly it’s hell!!”

Responding to the backlash, Chase later returned to the social media site with another message, as he tweeted, “On a real note. Don’t have covid. But I’m dropping a single tonight. With 2 guys that I learned a lot from. Respect the hell out of @FLAGALine. And 10 years after we started doing music together and lived together, we’re at it again. Drinkin beer. Talkin God. Amen.”
However, the post did little to quieten critics, as another commented, “I’m legitimately glad you’re ok but it’s NOT funny joking about having Covid. Especially to promote music. People are literally dying from it. And Tyler (Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line) might not find your joke funny either since he’s actually HAD Covid.”
Another person wrote, “Really in bad taste to joke about Covid. Thought you had learned something since the concert incident this year. Guess not. Here’s an idea: take all the earnings from this song and donate to Covid survivors or donate PPE to local hospitals. Do better, Covid is not a joke.”
In June (20), Chase hit headlines when he held a concert in the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary venue in Petros, Tennessee, with hundreds of people cramming in without wearing any face masks or protection against the virus.
