Evanescence Set to Release Comeback Album in March 2021

    Instagram

The Amy Lee-fronted band have announced official release date for ‘The Bitter Truth’, their new studio album in almost a decade following their eponymous effort in 2011.

    Dec 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Evanescence’s new album “The Bitter Truth” has been handed a release date of 26 March (21).
The long-awaited record will be the band’s first album of original material in almost a decade, following their self-titled effort in 2011.
Evanescence have released a new single, “Yeah Right”, to mark the album announcement while they’ve also previously released three other tracks – “Wasted on You”, “The Game Is Over”, and “Use My Voice” – from the upcoming record.

The band said on Twitter, “Our first album of original music in almost a decade, The Bitter Truth is available for pre-order now! Get Yeah Right, Use My Voice, The Game Is Over, and Wasted On You instantly when you pre-order. (sic)”
Amy Lee, the co-founder of the band and their frontwoman, previously admitted she approached the new album in a different way.
“This has been a different process for us. Even pre-pandemic, I wanted to do this in a different way,” she explained. “Instead of getting all of our songs written and ready to go, and then going in the studio and recording it the traditional way all at once, I had been enjoying the way that we’ve structured our schedule the past couple of years, in that we just keep breaking things up.”
“We would go on tour for about six weeks, and then come off, get a little catch-up time with our family, and then get together and write music. Then we would go back on tour, and we did a type of music and touring that was very different, with a full orchestra.”

Chance the Rapper Accused of Using Manager as Spacegoat for Album Flop

    WENN

The ‘Big Day’ rapper has been slapped with a lawsuit by his former manager after the latter was fired following the lackluster performance of the hip-hop star’s debut album.

    Dec 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chance the Rapper’s former manager is demanding $3 million (£2.2 million) in unpaid commissions in a new lawsuit.
Pat Corcoran, known as Pat the Manager, alleges the hip-hop star, full name Chancellor Bennett, ignored his advice regarding the timing for release of his debut album “The Big Day” and then fired the representative following the 2019 project’s poor performance.
In court papers filed in Cook County, Illinois on 30 November (20), Corcoran claims the independent rapper, who was riding high on the success of his three early mixtapes, had to rush the album out after prematurely announcing the release date before he had even written or recorded any of the material – even though its scheduled launch was just five months away.
Corcoran goes on to explain, “Compounding the issue, Bennett’s recording efforts were compromised by unproductive and undisciplined studio sessions.”
“Procrastination and lackadaisical effort, perpetuated by various hangers-on uninterested in the hard work of writing and recording, resulted in a freestyle-driven product of subpar quality.”

“The Big Day” debuted at number two on America’s Billboard 200 chart, but failed to meet many fans and critics’ expectations, and led to Chance scrapping plans for a subsequent promotional tour at the last minute.
According to Corcoran, he had been urging Chance to pull out of the live shows immediately after the album disappointment, but he waited until just five days before its launch to delay the gigs, and then cancelled them completely.
Corcoran was eventually fired in April (20), with Chance appointing his brother, fellow rapper Taylor Bennett, and their father, Ken Williams-Bennett, to oversee his career, despite having “little to no experience in the music industry.” His former manager believes he was used as a scapegoat for the flop album, “rather than accept that his own lack of dedication had doomed the project,” and claims Chance is now refusing to pay for work completed during his term as manager, with Williams-Bennett offering him a total of $350,000 (£260,400) to settle the dispute.
“Despite months of outreach and efforts at reconciliation, Bennett has refused to pay Corcoran the amounts Corcoran is fairly owed under the parties’ long-standing agreement and well-settled course of conduct,” his lawyers write.
Chance has yet to comment on the legal action.

Mariah Carey Teases She's Giving Away Snoop Dogg 'A Very Specific Christmas Idea'

    Instagram

The ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ hitmaker has teamed up with the ‘Gin and Juice’ rapper for her new Apple TV-plus special which also features her twins Moroccan and Monroe.

    Dec 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mariah Carey’s festive hook-up with Snoop Dogg has inspired a “Christmas idea” the singer is keen to pitch to her new rapper pal.
The pair teamed up for Carey’s new Apple TV+ special, which debuts on Friday, December 4, and she admits Snoop brought something very special to the holiday spectacular.
“He did his part, it’s my new thing,” she tells Billboard. “I’m living for it. I’m waiting to hear back from Snoop about a very specific Christmas idea that I have for him, and I’m giving it away… I didn’t even talk to him about it.”

“I’m not gonna say what he was wearing, but he inspired a notion in me that I’m ready for the world to learn about. That’s a big thing… I wish someone would have suggested this to me, but I can’t do it. He’s more well-suited to do this.”
Mariah refused to elaborate further but reveals her twins Moroccan and Monroe will be joining mum for the TV special, and that has inspired her to consider releasing a song they recorded when they were younger.
“I actually recorded a song with them when they were six that we didn’t release and they were like, ‘Why didn’t we release that?'” Carey adds. “It was so cute, because it was when Rocky (Moroccan) had an accent – well not an accent, but couldn’t really pronounce certain letters yet – and they’re both singing on it. So one of these days I need to be encouraged to release that, but there’s just other stuff going on.”
“I wanted to do more with them in terms of performance, but they’re definitely up onstage, they’re acting in it. So I love that. I loved incorporating them into this festive world that we created.”

Saweetie Accuses Label of Clout Chasing After 'Prematurely' Releasing Doja Cat Collab

    Instagram

The 26-year-old ‘ICY GIRL’ raptress also complains about how her label WBR uploaded the incorrect version of ‘Best Friends’, her collaborative song with the ‘Say So’ hitmaker.

    Dec 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Saweetie wants her label to put more respect on her work. The 26-year-old rapper slammed her own label for uploading “Best Friends”, her collaborative song with Doja Cat, on Apple Music without her consent.
Expressing her displeasure, the “My Type” femcee took to her Twitter account on Friday, December 4 to put her label WBR on blast. “I am extremely disappointed in my label WBR for prematurely releasing a single I was so excited about,” she wrote on the blue bird app. “I feel disrespected. I’m hands on with ALL of my creative & had such a dope rollout for ‘best friends.’ The thirst for clout & $ is real & it overrides the artists’ art.”
In another tweet, Saweetie continued, “We put so much work into the visual & we shot for days for this super cinematic girl anthem. And for this to happen? wow….” She also revealed in a follow-up tweet that they uploaded the incorrect version, saying, “The wrong version at that smh. Like wtf???”

Saweetie slammed her label for releasing Doja Cat collab song early.

Fans immediately rallied behind her and sent support to the femcee following her posts. “#weloveyousaweetie: I love you so much baby. I will always support you through thick and thin. You helped me get out of my depression stage. Just watching you work so hard everyday to reach your goals is amazing. We will get through this together. Love you so much,” one fan wrote to Saweetie.
The sweet post didn’t go unnoticed by the “ICY GIRL” raptress. In response to that, she told the fan, “wow. this means so much thank you girl.”
The support didn’t stop there as another fan replied to Saweetie, “we will still listen and love it!!! we got your back, we will wait for your time.” Showing sympathy to her, someone else added, “it looks like all labels just want the money, don’t give a f**k to the art and the artist… i feel so bad for what happened to you. i will be here for you okay? i love you to the moon and back.”
However, Brian “Z” Zisook, vice president of content operations at Audiomack, claimed that Saweetie’s label wasn’t the one to be blamed for the early release. “FWIW: Warner did not officially release this record. We were notified 8 hours ago by the label that it is being delayed until January. Very odd situation,” Z wrote on Twitter.
WBR has yet to respond to Saweetie’s claims.

Billie Eilish Calls Off 2021 World Tour After Delays Amid Covid-19 Pandemic

    WENN

The ‘Therefore I Am’ singer has decided to scrap her entire world tour after pushing it back a couple of times because of the worldwide coronavirus health crisis.

    Dec 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish has cancelled her entire “2021 Where Do We Go? World Tour”.
The pop superstar previously axed the March (20) dates of her tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, but had been hoping the situation would have improved enough for her to head back out on the road later this year with a European tour scheduled to begin in early July.
The “Therefore I Am” hitmaker then decided to postpone the shows until 2021, starting in March.
However, she and her team have now decided to call off the whole run and provide refunds to her fans.
In a statement posted on her social media pages, the Grammy-winner announced, “Hi guys. i wish that I could have seen you on tour this year. i’ve missed performing for you and being on stage so much i can’t even tell you.”

      See also…

“we’ve tried as many different scenarios as possible for the tour but none are possible and, although I know so many of you want to hold onto your tickets and vip passes, the best thing we can do for everyone is to get the money back into your hands as soon as we can.”
“Keep an eye on your email for more info from your point of purchase and when we’re ready and it’s safe we’ll let you know when everyone will be able to purchase tickets again for the next tour. (sic)”
She signed off, “I love you so much, stay safe, drink lots of water, wear a mask (sic).”
The tour originally included a string of shows in the U.K. this summer, including three nights at Manchester Arena and four at The O2 Arena in London.
While the “Bad Guy” hitmaker’s European tour was set to kick-off in Spain on 9 July.
Billie initially began her tour in North America at the beginning of March as planned, but after playing her run of shows in Miami, Florida, she was forced to announce the postponement of the rest of the month’s concerts, as well as those scheduled for April, before shifting the run to 2021.

    Dec 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – R&B star Teyana Taylor appears to be hanging up her microphone after expressing her frustration at life as a “super under appreciated” artist.
The “Lose Each Other” singer was left fuming last month (Nov20) when her critically-acclaimed June release, “The Album”, failed to receive a single nomination for the 2021 Grammy Awards, and it seems Teyana has had enough of the lack of professional recognition.
She took to Instagram on Friday (04Dec20) to share her Spotify statistics for 2020, which revealed her music had been streamed 162.8 million times by 15.2 million listeners in 92 countries.
Thanking fans for their support, she marvelled, “Wow, who did that? Y’all did that! Thank you…”
However, Teyana, who is signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, then vented about her struggles in the music industry as she seemingly announced her plans to retire.

“I ain’t gone front in times of feeling super under appreciated as a artist, receiving little to no real push from the ‘machine’, constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked, I mean the list (goes) on and on lol (laugh out loud)..”
“I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that i can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world (sic)!”
Teyana, who turns 30 next week (10Dec20), went on to suggest she wasn’t quitting the entertainment industry altogether, adding, “To all my supporters from day 1 & all my new ones I love you and I thank you for everything & don’t worry y’all know all hustlers have the understanding that when one door closes another will open…either that or I’m pickin da locks petunia!!! So wassup (sic).”
The news emerges three months after Teyana welcomed her second child, daughter Rue Rose, with her basketball star husband Iman Shumpert.
The couple also shares four-year-old girl Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., nicknamed Junie.
