“It is an honour to cover this heartwarming song,” Alanis says. “The lyrics feel more pertinent than ever and this year has been a year of great resilience and adapting and feeling all the feelings. May this song serve as a big hug to you and your sweet families and friends. Everything is going to be OK in the end, and if it’s not OK, it’s not the end.”
Fans were totally in love with the cover. “A very big thank you @Alanis for this fun updated John Lennon classic. War is Over,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Alanis, who released her ninth studio album, “Such Pretty Forks in the Road”, in July, will also perform on the Tina Fey-hosted “One Night Only: The Best of Broadway” special on NBC next week (December 4). The event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a nonprofit that supports the Actors Fund.

Eric Clapton Joins Forces With Van Morrison to Do Anti-Lockdown Charity Single

    WENN/Phil Lewis/Joel Ginsburg

Made in protest of COVID-19 restrictions, ‘Stand and Deliver’ is released in support of the ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ bluesman’s Save Live Music campaign and to raise funds for his Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund.

    Nov 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Eric Clapton and Van Morrison are teaming up to release a charity single in protest of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions and their effect on musicians.
The track, “Stand and Deliver”, is released in support of Van’s Save Live Music campaign and will raise funds for the “Brown Eyed Girl” bluesman’s Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund, helping musicians who are unable to perform.

Van has strongly criticized lockdown measures that have halted almost all live music in the U.K. since March, and Eric has added his voice to the campaign.

“There are many of us who support Van and his endeavours to save live music; he is an inspiration,” Eric said in a statement, backing Van in September. “We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.”
Discussing the new track, which he wrote and Eric recorded, Van told Variety, “Eric’s recording is fantastic and will clearly resonate with the many who share our frustrations.”
“It is heartbreaking to see so many talented musicians lack any meaningful support from the government, but we want to reassure them that we are working hard every day to lobby for the return of live music, and to save our industry.”
The new anthem follows a collection of protest songs, including one called “No More Lockdown”, that Van released in September, alongside a petition calling for the return of live music.
The U.K. returned to lockdown in November, and residents will enter a new strict tiered system of local lockdowns from 2 December.

    Nov 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez’s new track “In the Morning” is here for fans’ listening pleasure. Days after teasing it with several sultry posts on her Instagram account, the 51-year-old singer/dancer dropped the track in full on late Thursday night, November 26.
The “Jenny From the Block” hitmaker enlisted the help of her twins, Max and Emme, as well as her fiance Alex Rodriguez’s daughters, Natasha and Ella, to debut the song. They had a “virtual Thanksgiving dance party” on Instagram Live to celebrate the song’s release.

Apparently they were supposed to dance together to the track in the living room, but J.Lo ended up being the only one dancing in the room. “Why am I dancing by myself?” she asked at one point, prompting the kids to yell from the background, “Sorry mom.”

In “In the Morning”, J.Lo warns her man who only shows his love for her when he wants her “body.” “If you love me/ Say it in the morning/ Not just in the evening/ Only when you want my body/ Want my body,” she sings in the chorus.
Prior to the song’s release, J.Lo teased the song with an NSFW cover art featuring her baring her muscular physique as she wears nothing but her birthday suit. “Surprise! Here’s the official cover art for #InTheMorning Single drops Friday,” she wrote along with the image taken by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who have also worked with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna and Angelina Jolie.
She also invited her fans to join the “virtual Thanksgiving dance party” earlier on Thursday, writing on Twitter, “Join me for a virtual Thanksgiving dance party ON Instagram Live TONIGHT at 11:45 pm EST! Adam Levine Cuts to the Chase in Grammy Nominations Debate

    Instagram

The Maroon 5 frontman refuses to join in the conversation about who deserves to get nominated for the prestigious music awards, telling his fans to focus on ‘someone you love’ instead.

    Nov 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Adam Levine could not care less about the debate surrounding 2021 Grammy Awards. The Maroon 5 frontman refused to join in the conversation about who deserves to get nominated for the prestigious music awards after the Recording Academy came under fire following the Grammys’ nominations announcement.
Making use of Instagram Story, the 41-year-old shared his thought on the matter along with a mirror selfie wherein he wore a colorful outfit and a pair of pink shoes. “I’ve decided that people either love or hate the Grammys too much,” he stated. “Seriously, who gives a f**k either way?” Instead, he encouraged his followers to “go hug someone you love.”

Adam Levine urged fans to ‘hug someone’ they love instead of debating over 2021 Grammy Awards nominations.

Adam’s statement came after a number of artists criticized the Grammys over its selections for the upcoming ceremony. One in particular was The Weeknd who made use of Twitter and Instagram to attack the awards show officials for snubbing him. “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency,” he declared in the Tuesday, November 24 post.
Following in the footsteps of The Weeknd was Teyana Taylor. She let out her annoyance on Twitter after failing to shortlist among male artists in the Best R&B Album category. “Y’all was better off just saying best MALE R&B ALBUM cause all I see is d**k in this category (sic),” she complained.
Kehlani, on the other hand, shared a similar response with Adam. Although she also failed to land nods, she refused to get upset. In response to a fan’s urging, she stated, “HA! i don’t think anyone should ever be mad about these things. we are all hella blessed to do what we do and have so many fans affirming us daily, at shows, when we drop projects! stress makes you sick why you want me to be mad pookiepie (sic)!!”
2021 Grammy Awards aside, Adam has won three Grammys in the past. He secured the Best New Artist trophy with his band in 2004, as well as two other wins for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “This Love” and “Makes Me Wonder” in 2005 and 2007 respectively.

Bebe Rexha and Keke Palmer Deliver Stunning Performance at 2020 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

    Instagram

In this socially-distanced edition of the 94th annual holiday spectacular, Lauren Alaina and Ally Brooke also take their performance to the streets of New York City, while Dolly Parton sings from Nashville.

    Nov 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – The 94th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has brought the festive spirit back amid the coronavirus pandemic. Taking over the streets of New York City on Thursday morning, November 26 with strict safety precautions, it presented a number of special performances which included that of Bebe Rexha and Keke Palmer.
Bebe turned heads when she showed off a sexy appearance at the socially-distanced edition of the annual holiday spectacular. Donning a red bodysuit over black turtleneck and leggings with a black fur cape, the 31-year-old singer delivered her new hit tune, “Baby, I’m Jealous”, aboard the Jennie-O float which features a massive gold turkey.
Unfortunately, Bebe’s performance was slightly hampered by a rogue piece of confetti which got stuck on the camera lens near the end. While the gaffe got the Internet buzzing with many social media users joking that it had enough of her, the “Meant to Be” hitmaker let it slide and lightheartedly joked in an Instagram post, “I definitely have the biggest turkey this year.”

Keke, in the meantime, stunned viewers with an energetic performance of “Dreamcatcher”. Riding the float for clothing brand Coach which was pulled by an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, the 27-year-old singer/actress looked fabulous in a beige leather coat. She completed her dapper look with a pair of earmuffs.

Other singers braving the cold to entertain viewers at home included Lauren Alaina, Ally Brooke and Tori Kelly. Lauren belted out her hit single “RUN” atop the South Dakota float, Ally sang “We Are a Family” while riding the Blue’s Clues & You! Float, and Tori delivered an original Christmas track, “25th,” on Lifetime’s Christmas in Town Square float.

Legendary singers Patti LaBelle and Dolly Parton also joined in the festivity. Patti delivered a soulful rendition of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” in front of Macy’s iconic flagship store, whereas Dolly brought the festive mood straight from Nashville as she belted out “Holly Jolly Christmas” from her newly-released third holiday album “A Holly Dolly Christmas”.

Although Broadway has been closed since March due to COVID-19, the casts of “Mean Girls”, “Jagged Little Pill” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg: The Life and Times of the Temptations” among others pre-taped their performances. Meanwhile, the giant balloons included Queen Poppy of “Trolls” and Boss Baby. It was concluded with the appearance of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
