Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber Unleash Emotion in 'Monster' Music Video

    [embedded content]

In their first ever collaboration, the ‘Senorita’ hitmaker and the ‘Lonely’ singer sing about their inner struggles with early fame as they find themselves being put on a pedestal.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Shawn Mendes has finally made his dream collaboration with Justin Bieber a reality. The “Senorita” hitmaker released “Monster”, his brand duet single with the “Lonely” singer, off upcoming album “Wonder” at midnight on Friday, November 20, and along with it, was its dark and emotional music video.
Directed by Colin Tilley and produced by Jack Winter, the promo for Mendes’ first-ever collaboration with Bieber sees the popstar duo singing about their inner battles over their fame atop a white platform in the middle of the woods. Wearing casual clothes, they strip bare their emotions while lightning flashes around them.
“You put me on a pedestal and tell me I’m the best/ Raise me up to the sky until I’m out of breath,” Mendes kicks off the tune by singing his verse. “Fill me yup with confidence, I say what’s in my chest/ Spill my words and tear me down until there’s nothing left/ Rearrange the pieces just to fit me with the rest, yeah.”

      See also…

One minute into the track, Bieber takes over by sharing his own experience. “I was fifteen when the world put me on a pedestal/ I had big dreams shows and making memories,” he croons. “Made some bad moves trying to act cool, upset by their jealously/ Lifting me up (Lifting me up), lifting me up (Yeah).”
About the single, Mendes previously told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “It’s about how society can put celebrities up on a pedestal and watch them fall and it seems to be this entertainment thing. And it’s hard.” He then explained on Bieber’s involvement, “And his heart fell deep into it. And him and I, even yesterday, were on the phone for an hour and had the deepest conversation, I think, about so much.”
“And it just felt really nice because it was a full circle moment for me, this guy who was the reason I started singing. I was nine when ‘One Time’ came out, and I completely was all in,” he recalled. “[Bieber] was Elvis to me. And to come back around and to have this very human to human conversation with him and his truth to come into that song and my truth to be there, it feels like one of the most special songs I’ve ever wrote. And the more I listened to it and the deeper I get into it, this is not just about celebrities. This is the human experience.”

Tyler Hubbard Denies Florida Georgia Line Split Rumors Despite Unfollowing Bandmate

    WENN

The country music star insists he and bandmate Brian Kelley are not breaking up although they unfollowed each other amid election due to different political views.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Florida Georgia Line star Tyler Hubbard has shot down reports of a break-up after unfollowing his bandmate on social media, insisting he just needed a break from his politics.
Democrat Hubbard shut down Republican Brian Kelley for a few days around the general election as the duo pulled out of an appearance at the Country Music Academy Awards due to a COVID-related health scare.
The two stories combined to prompt fans and critics alike to suggest FGL were done, but Hubbard insists there’s nothing further from the truth.

“I unfollowed BK for a few days… in the middle of this election…,” the singer told SiriusXM’s Exit 209 with Storme Warren show. “I even called him and told him. I said, ‘Hey buddy, I love you. And I love you a lot more in real life than on your (Instagram) Stories right now. So that’s why I’m unfollowing you. Nothing personal. I still love you. You’re still my brother.’ ”
“I just didn’t want to see it every time I opened Instagram. And so it wasn’t a big deal… We’re on great terms. We’re feeling stronger than ever. We’re loving and supporting each other through even all the chapters that we’re in now and excited for the future.”
Tyler also revealed he and his bandmate have tried therapy to sort out their issues over the years, adding, “We have been on a 10-year relationship, a 10-year partnership, a 10-year commitment to each other. And yes, there have been hard times. It’s not all sugar coated. And so the truth is, and I think this is important to talk about, me and BK have done work. We went to therapy. We’ve sat with each other and wanted to kill each other at times. But by the end of it, we were hugging it out.”
“We’re brothers and that’s what brothers do. Brothers don’t always get along… We know the importance of our relationship and how much love we have for each other. So we have worked over the years, we’ve worked to become stronger and stronger and stronger, and that’s even through the hard times. It’s made us stronger as friends and brothers and partners.”

Freddie takes to Twitter to say that Jeezy should have roasted Gucci Mane, whom he will go against in the next episode of ‘Verzuz’, instead of going after him.

    Nov 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ahead of his “Verzuz” battle against Gucci Mane, Jeezy (Young Jeezy) released a song titled “Therapy for My Soul” where he dissed 50 Cent and Freddie Gibbs. It unsurprisingly didn’t take long for Fiddy to catch wind of that and responded to the diss.
Seemingly not really bothered by the blast, Fofty thought that Jeezy was just chasing the clout. “Anything to try and sell a record i guess? I’m not available this week,” the “Power” actor/creator wrote, before promoting his TV series, “FOR LIFE is coming on at 10pm tonight. i’m busy LOL #yours**tistrash.”

Echoing the message, Freddie also reacted similarly to the diss track. Reposting Fiddy’s post on his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “@jeezy Message B***h!” He also took to his Twitter account to clap back at the fiance of Jeannai Mai.
“BMF put U in a headlock in front of me. U gotta come harder than this snow flake,” Freddie tweeted. “u big mad,” he added, before writing in another post, “I can’t beef with n***a. u got it snow U won.”

Freddie then said that Jeezy should have roasted Gucci instead of him. “n***a smoked yo partner and u bout to sit in the room and do a verzuz wit him. Don’t talk no street s**t to me fam,” he said.
On “Therapy for My Soul”, Jeezy can be heard rapping, “If One-Five wasn’t my dawg, I would’ve touched them/ When that s**t went down with Gibbs, I couldn’t trust ’em/ Invested my hard earn money, tied up my bread.” He adds, “But he gon’ try to tell you I’m flawed, that’s in his head/ It’s happening just the way that I said it, good on your own/ And if I’m honest nothin’ gangsta about you, leave this alone.”
He also taunts Fiddy, spitting bars, “Since we talkin’ boss talk, let’s address the sucka s**t/ Grown man playin’ on Instagram, real sucka s**t Why the f**k this clown n**** playin’ with my legacy?/ Solid in these streets, that’s some sh*t that you will never be/ Talking ’bout power, but weak n****s do the most/ In real life, n***a you really borrow money from Ghost All that lil’ boy s**t, yeah it make it evident/ Made millions in these streets, what the f**k is 50 Cent?”

While Jeezy has yet to respond to Fofty and Freddie’s comments on his track, he will face off each other in the season 2 premiere of “Verzuz” this Thursday, November 19.
