AceShowbiz – Tiny (Tameka Cottle) recalled her having a deep talk with Notorious B.I.G. during her sit-down interview for VLAD TV. In a new video, the singer discussed her early career with Xscape and when the legendary rapper made dissing remarks about the group.
“There was that song, ‘Dreams’, where he dissed you guys,” Vlad asked the wife of T.I., referring to the song by the late rapper off his 1994 debut album “Ready to Die”. “In 1997, there was this huge vibe party in L.A. and Biggie is there and from what I understand he tried to approach you guys to apologize.”
Tiny confirmed the story, saying, “So he did.” She went on explaining, “There was a couple times after the ‘Dream’ song that we had a couple shows and he would be, you know, Jermaine [Dupri] would be like, ‘Yo, Biggie wants to see y’all. He wants to talk to y’all.’ And some of the girls were like, ‘No!’ ”
Although Tiny claimed that she didn’t exactly remember the details, she remembered that the group didn’t want “to deal with him.” Back to the Vibe party, Tiny revealed that fellow member Kandi Burruss was so against of the idea of talking to Biggie after the mockery, prompting Tiny to step in and decide to go to Biggie by herself.

Of what happened after she met the “Mo Money Mo Problems” rapper, Tiny said, “He basically apologized for saying it. He thought we were beautiful. He was just, ‘I’m an ugly motherf***er, I ain’t had no business talking about nobody.’ ”
Tiny revealed that she and the group then left and they shared a hug with the rapper. “It was all good and then, you know..,” she explained, referring to Biggie getting shot less than an hour after their encounter. Tiny claimed that upon knowing his murder, Kandi told her that she regretted for not talking to him before his death.
When asked about her feeling for spending some time with Biggie minutes before the fateful night, Tiny responded, “It was crazy. I just felt like I was just glad that I got a chance to, like, even say anything, and speak. And he got a chance to tell me how he felt, he apologized and it went all good.”

On “Dreams”, Biggie, who was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997, dragged the ’90s R&B group that consists of Tiny, Kandi, LaTocha Scott, Tamera Coggins-Wynn and Tamika Scott. “I’ll f**k RuPaul before I f**k them ugly a** Xscape b***es/ You can 76 the 69 try 68/ Did Raven Simone call date rape?/ Only ’cause I’m paid,” he rapped.

AceShowbiz – Ariana Grande’s “Positions” spends its second week at No. 1 on Billboard 200. The set continues to rule the chart after earning 82,000 equivalent album units in the week ending November 12, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Of the number, 73,000 are in the forms of SEA units. Meanwhile, 8,000 comprise album sales and the rest are in TEA units. Trailing behind Ariana’s new album is Pop Smoke’s former No. 1 “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”. It rises from No. 3 to No. 2 with 57,000 equivalent album units earned.
The Kid Laroi’s “F*ck Love”, meanwhile, soars high from No. 81 to No. 3 with 52,000 equivalent album units earned following the set’s deluxe reissue on November 6 that features seven bonus tracks. Later at No. 4 is Luke Combs’s non-mover “What You See Is What You Get” that earns 46,000 equivalent album units.

Naija shone brighter with “Misunderstood” as it bowed at No. 9 on Billboard Hot 200 with 34,000 equivalent album units earned. It also propelled the 25-year-old singer/songwriter, who rose to fame as a contestant on the thirteenth season of “American Idol”, to the top position on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums.

She additionally reached top 20 on US R&B Songs chart with four songs including Lil Durk-assisted “Lie to Me”. On top of that, “Butterflies Pt. 2” climbed up at Urban AC radio, entering the top three with more than 63 million combined global streams. “Pack Lite” gained over 42 million cumulative streams and “Bitter” became the No. 1 trending song on Apple Music.
“I’m opening up to certain things, like about certain things in my life that people don’t really know about,” she explained her musical growth in the past couple years during an interview with Apple Music. “And I want to bring that connection back, especially since I’ve been away from YouTube for so long, in an artistic way. And also, it’s just I’ve grown. My sound has grown.”
“I just basically wanted to peel off more layers to who I am. I wanted people to get to know me more, get to like my sound … I really just wanted to mark my place here in the R&B world.”

AceShowbiz – Longtime rap rivals Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy are to face off in the next online Verzuz battle.
The hip-hop stars have been feuding for 15 years after Gucci Mane was linked to the death of one of Jeezy’s associates, Pookie Loc, in 2005, and now they’re taking their beef to Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s popular series, during which musicians and rappers compete to win a livestream battle by performing snippets from their back catalogues.
Gucci replaces T.I., who was originally set to challenge Jeezy.
Speaking to “The Breakfast Club” last week, Jeezy revealed he reached out to Gucci Mane and asked him to join him on Verzuz, but his rival “respectfully declined.”

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland launched Verzuz at the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown in the spring (20). During the show, competitors take it in turns playing a song from a list of 20 hits from their back catalogue, as fans, friends and fellow artists watch on. A winner is later decided by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.

AceShowbiz – Katy Perry’s breakout hit “I Kissed a Girl” was inspired by a conversation with Eurythmics star Dave Stewart.
The British star reveals he worked with the relatively unknown Perry at his studio in Surrey, England, and it was during that period he urged her to write the 2008 single from her album, “One of the Boys”.
According to Stewart, the singer was looking to kickstart her pop career after her first solo album, the Christian rock-inspired “Katy Hudson”, was a commercial failure.
She turned to the “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” star in hopes of producing a hit – but, according to Stewart, she was trying too hard to strike gold.

Bisexuality wasn’t as talked about back then, or any type of fluidity. If I had to write that song again, I probably would make an edit on it. Lyrically, it has a couple of stereotypes in it. Your mind changes so much in 10 years, and you grow so much. What’s true for you can evolve.”

Following the release of his latest album “Believe”, the star will perform live from the Teatro Regio di Parma opera house on 12 December (20), alongside musicians and specials guests.
In the U.S., the concert will stream at 8pm in both east and west coast time zones. The Central Time stream will be concurrent with the Pacific Time broadcast, at 10pm. CT.
U.K. fans can watch the one-off event featuring the 62-year-old with musicians and specials guests at 8pm GMT on the day.
