GMB's Piers Morgan 'wanted for first Strictly Come Dancing all-male couple'

Controversial Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has said he’d “break” Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice after the dancer said he wanted to be paired with Piers.

Ranvir Singh was back on GMB hosting the news and chatting to Piers and Susanna Reid when she confessed Giovanni had said he’d rather dance with someone else other than me.

Naturally, the conversation moved to Strictly after Ranvir has been impressing viewers each week with her dancing.

And Piers said: “You said to me, Giovanni would rather be dancing with me.”

Ranvir confirmed it, saying: “He said he would like to be in the same first all-male couple on Strictly with Piers.”

Piers quipped: “He said to Ranvir he thought he could break me in one day. Giovanni, buddy, you wouldn’t break me in one year – I would break you.”

But Ranvir wasn’t convinced, warning Piers: “He’s a very strict taskmaster and I just think you could do with a bit of that Piers.”

It seems Piers does want to get in on some of the action though, as he said: “What I could do with is a bit of your weight loss.

“I’m carrying about a lockdown extra 2000kg and the last thing you want to see is Ranvir Singh, emaciated, down about 8st.”

Ranvir joked: “The fear of being lifted up in the air is enough to stop you eating. That’s the best diet.”

The dancing diva has been at the top end of the leaderboard on Strictly regularly, even getting the top spot in week three.

During last week’s episode, Ranvir and Giovanni got a score of 24 for their American Smooth to Aretha Franklin’s I Say a Little Prayer.

But it’s looking like she’ll make it to the finale at least, just like her co-star Susanna Reid did in 2013 alongside former pro dancer Kevin Clifton.

Fellow Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins has also taken part in Strictly, being the third eliminated in the 2017 series.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
