Ronnie Wood's son says relationship is 'like a mate' as he slams claims of rift

Jamie Wood has addressed claims that he is embroiled in a feud with his legendary dad.

The son of musician Ronnie Wood has been the centre of speculation surrounding their relationship for several years, something he is keen to put to rest.

Last week, Jamie, 46, silenced rumours that he was flogging over £ million worth of his dad’s merchandise.

Now, he is eager to get the true extent of their relationship out there four decades after Ronnie took him under his belt and adopted him.

Ronnie, who found fame in the Rolling Stones adopted Jamie after striking up a romance with his mum, Jo in 1977.

Speaking candidly to MailOnline about his dad, he said: “It’s not a feud. But Ronnie’s not my dad. I think of him as a mate,

“We text now and again – you know, ‘how are you mate, happy birthday’ – but it’s not a feud, it’s just how it’s always been.”

Jamie went on to joke that he’s “surprised” that Ronnie, 73, remembered him.

While there is no bad blood between the pair, Jamie added: “We never had much of a relationship. Ronnie was a dude mum was with – the dude it’s all about.”

Jamie recalls being handed £10 by Ronnie when he asked for cash before heading to a night club with pals and being left somewhat disappointed as that wouldn’t have covered his cab fare.

Despite Ronnie and Jamie’s mum, Jo Wood, 65, parting ways in 2009 – he remained in contact with his dad but admitted his model mum was “in bits” when their divorce became “messy”.

Jamie went on to say that he will forever be in love with Ronnie as well as respecting him for paying his school fees during his earlier years.Ronnie Wood’s son Jamie says ‘he’s not my dad’ as he dismissed family feud claims

After divorcing Jo, Ronnie went on to meet his third wife, Sally Humphreys, before marrying her in 2012.

The pair share two daughters, Gracie and Alice, both four.

Despite being known for his rock and roll lifestyle, Ronnie revealed one deep secret to supermodel Twiggy on her Tea with Twiggy podcast: “My mum was great at crochet and knitting.

“I knit too – I used to hold the ball of wool for her, and she taught me the plain stitch.

“I still do it today, I think it’s really relaxing. I knit endless scarves.”
