The Chase viewers annoyed as Gail offers controversial prize advice to teammates

The Chase returned to our screens on Tuesday afternoon for the latest instalment of the ITV quiz show and fans were not happy with contestant Gail.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players s to the show for the second episode of the week.

The cheeky presenter was eager to see them get through to the final with some money in-hand.

Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha was in the hot seat trying to prevent the hopefuls from going home with the cash prize.

James, Mark, Kim and Gail all took it in turns to take on the cash builder and later went head-to-head with The Sinnerman in an intense round of general knowledge questions.

Gail was the fourth and final contestant to take on the tough ITV quiz show.

Despite telling all three of her team mates to take the high offer during their turn, Gail opted to play it safe and take the middle option.

Viewers at home rushed to their keyboards to criticise Gail for taking the middle offer.

One fan moaned: “Contestants like this are so annoying. Want others to risk and then they bottle it, but chat as if they are tempered.”

A second person penned: “So spent all that time telling everyone to go for the high offer and she didn’t do it herself.”

While a third viewer ranted: “What a letdown after telling everyone else to go high.”

A fourth said: “She told everyone to go high then takes the middle offer.”

James was the first contestant to play The Chase but failed to make it back home and dry.

Mark and Kim both sailed to though to the final round making the prize fund £13,000.

The pressure was on Gail to add some more funds to the prize pot.

Se answered seven questions correctly in her cash builder round earning £7,000 for the cash prize.

The Sinnerman offered her the chance to swap the £7,000 for a whooping £53,000 ahead of the head to head round.

However, Gail decided to not take the risk and played The Chase for £7,000.

The contestant proved she made the right decision and made it though to the final round, increasing the prize fund to £20,000.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
