American Murder: The Family Next Door viewers spot 'ghost' in chilling clip

Viewers of new Netflix true crime documentary American Murder: The Family Next Door have been left stunned after claiming they’ve seen a ghost in a clip from the show.

The series tells the story of how evil killer Chris Watts killed his pregnant wife Shanann and their two young daughters, Bella, four, or Celeste, three.

In one episode, viewers have been given the creeps by what they reckon is a “ghost” in the background of body cam footage.

The clip shows Chris inside his home with several police officers as well as Shanann’s friend Nickole Atkinson and her son, who were the first to report the mother of two missing.

What looks like a young girl is seen near the entrance to a nearby room as police officers speak to Chris.

Viewers have rushed to social media to speculate whether the spooky footage shows a ghost.

On person wrote: “WTF legit looks like a kid” and “Is it a ghost??”.

Another wrote: “In this clip you can see in the left corner you can clearly see a little girl,” he wrote in the caption, adding: “You can start seeing stuff around the 0:33 mark”.

“Is it a ghost??,” a third puzzled viewer asked.

But some people insisted it was likely Nickole’s daughter who was with them in the house at the time.

One person said: “Isn’t that the (very living) daughter of the neighbour woman talking with the cop?”

“Those are not ghosts. His daughters didn’t have long hair like the “ghost” in the video,” a third added.

At the time of their deaths, Shanann was just 34, while Bella was four and Celeste just three.

Shanann was 15 weeks pregnant with their son at the time of the brutal killing.

During the show, the story of their relationship is explored – detailing how the couple first met in 2010 before going on to get married in November 2012.

It also includes footage used in the murder investigation, including police tapes, social media posts, text messages and home video footage.

After returning from a business trip, Shanann was reported missing by her friend who said that she had ignored text messages, failed to arrive at an appointment and also missed a business meeting.

Chris had claimed his wife and their children had gone on the run before he was later arrested and convicted of their murder.
