Comedian Bobby Ball said he felt ‘fantastic’ in a TV interview just months before his death.
It was announced today (October 29) that the Cannon and Ball star died aged 76 after testing positive for coronavirus.
In an ITV News interview from January this year, Bobby was seen being asked: “Bobby Ball how are you? Are you good?”
He replied chirpily: “I’m fantastic and it’s great to see you.”
As the female interviewer continued to chat about his 60 years in showbiz, Bobby then cheekily joked that her dress looked like a “hanging basket” – although told her she looked great.
More to follow.
Bobby then went on to speak about his first TV appearance with comedy partner Tommy Cannon.
He commented: “We did Opportunity Knocks… and we came last, we were rubbish.”
The interviewer then went on to chat about The Cannon and Ball Show.
She mentioned it was on primetime TV on Saturday nights for 12 years in front of 20million people.

Bobby replied: “That’s correct, it was wonderful. We’ve been very, very blessed me and Tommy. We’ve been very lucky.”
Ball’s manager Phil Dale announced Bobby’s death today in a statement.
He said: “It is with great personal sadness that on behalf of Yvonne Ball, and the family, and Tommy Cannon, I announce that Bobby Ball passed away at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the 28th October 2020 approximately 21:30.
“Bobby had been taken to the hospital for tests as he started with breathing problems. At first it was thought to be a chest infection but a test proved positive for Covid-19.
“His wife Yvonne said the hospital and staff could not have been more wonderful, as they were outstanding in their care of duty and they did everything possible for him and she cannot praise them enough.
“She said that the family and Tommy would like to express their sincere thanks to the many, many people who have been fans of Bobby and they know that they will all share in part the great loss and total sadness that Yvonne, the family and Tommy all feel.
“Yvonne added that their need for privacy at this time has to be a priority. No further announcements or statements will be made.”
