Caroline Flack's ex Andrew Brady pushes for song to reach No1 in her memory

Caroline Flack’s ex boyfriend Andrew Brady has taken to social media to start a campaign for a song from 1979 to reach No1 once again, in honour of the ITV host who tragically died.

Taking to his Instagram account, he urged I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star and radio DJ Roman Kemp to support his plot for his chosen song to reach No1 in the charts.

Andrew, who had once been engaged to Caroline, asked for One Day At A Time by Lena Martel to storm the charts in the Love Island presenter’s honour.

His song selection was spurred on by the fact that the Lena Martel hit had been No1 in the charts on the day that Caroline was born.

Addressing fans on Instagram he penned: “Let’s try and get One Day At A Time by Lena Martel to number one this week in memory of Caroline.

“It was number one on the day she was born – November 1, 1979.”

Until now the former Celebrity Big Brother star had remained closed-lipped in regards to the devastating news that shook the entire nation over the weekend.

Using his official Instagram, he shared an emotional tribute, writing: “Following such a terrible tragedy I’m unable to look at my phone.

“I haven’t been able to read anything. Thanks to everyone for your kind messages.

“I will respond to as many as I can when I’m ready.

“I just want it on record I had my say and nothing else.”

The former Apprentice star continued: “For a time in my life, I loved that woman and I hope she loved me as much as she said.

“I also want it to be said I have many amazing people in my life.

“To my grandma and my mum, I am sorry. I hope I can make you proud of me and also to my dad and sister, I love you all.

“To my friends sorry I haven’t been in touch. I love each and every single one of you.”

Concluding his statement, Andrew wrote: “To everyone who loves me, don’t worry about me, I’m in a very good place in my life, this is just a very tragic circumstance.

“But I’m around someone who loves me and I won’t do anything stupid. So don’t worry, I love you all.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Caroline Flack, 40, was found by paramedics and police in her London home before being pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 2:31pm on Saturday, February 15 officers were alerted about the welfare of the former X Factor presenter.

A friend of the TV star was staying with Caroline, as fears were raised for her state of mind and wellbeing.

Just hours before Caroline’s death, the CPS had confirmed that the assault case against the ITV presenter would go ahead.

Back in December, Caroline decided to step down from her role on the winter edition of Love Island after she was alleged to have assaulted boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27, at her north London home.

Social media and television has been flooded with heartfelt tributes from close friends, former Love Island stars and many saddened celebrities and fans.
