SAS: Who Dare Wins star Matthew “Ollie” Ollerton has opened up about what it’s really like putting the famous faces through the tough militarily survival process during the celebrity version of the Channel 4 show.
From his near death experience after being attacked by a 50kg chimpanzee at a travelling circus when he was just 10 years old to rescuing children out of sex traffickers’ camps on the Thai-Myanamr border, the former Royal Marine has been through a lot in his lifetime.
In his autobiography Break Point, Ollie, 44, reveals who he turned to a spiritual psychologist to find his inner peace after his traumatic life experience.
Ollie, 44, is now one of Ant’s Middleton’s officers on SAS: Who Dare Wins and is regularly seen observing the contestants as they take on one of the toughest shows on telly.
He has opened up about life on the show exclusively to Daily Star Online and said he wants TV chef Gordon Ramsay as their next recruit.

Speaking his thoughts on the celebrity version of the gruelling television show, Ollie told Daily Star Online: “We initially didn’t know if a celebrity version would work or if the show was going to be authentic enough, but the celebrity version has been amazing.
“The beauty of the show is that it removes peoples egos.
“People already know the celebrities on the outside world so they know they way the media paints them but they come on the show and see a different version of them.
He added: “Coming on the show is amazing for them. It takes a lot of balls and they know they are going to be truly rinsed for who they truly are.”
“The fact they put their hands up to do it in the first place is amazing.”
“It’s overall performance. It’s the generally performed across the whole course.

“Sometimes they show their strength and weaknesses.”
Katie Price was the first famous face to quit the gruelling selection process in the current series after just 48 hours.
Since leaving the show the former glamour model, 41, has put her exit down to the fact her body was not ready for the extreme tasks and conditions, and is willing to give the show another go.
Discussing whether or not the instructors would welcome back celebrities who have previously pulled out of the show early, officer Ollie said: “That’s not really our choice.

“I think the beauty of the show is they don’t know what is ahead of them.
“I don’t think it will be realistic them coming because they will be able to prepare.
“The show is their one time to shine.”
Ollie revealed which showbiz name he’d like to put through their paces on the next series of the tough training process.

“I think Gordon Ramsay would be great and a lot of people agree with me on that,” he explained.
“I don’t know if he’d do it though.”
The telly chef has recently sparked criticism online for supposedly flouting lockdown rules.
Would Ollie and the gang be able to finally put fiery chef Gordon in his place?
