Coleen Rooney posts sweet tribute to husband Wayne to mark 12th anniversary

Coleen Rooney posted a sweet throwback photo to mark her 12th wedding anniversary to husband Wayne Rooney.

The pair first started dating at 16 once they left secondary school, and years later the footballer popped the question at a petrol station because he couldn’t wait to get to the restaurant.

In 2008, the lovebirds wed in a £5million ceremony on the Italian Riviera, and Coleen wore a Marchesa wedding gown rumoured to have cost up to £200,000.

Taking to Instagram, Coleen wrote: “Happy anniversary Wayne Rooney. 12 years since that unbelievable 4 day celebration. I love you x.”

Underneath the caption, the mum-of-four included a picture of the pair at the reception, with Wayne looking dapper in an unbuttoned shirt and black trousers.

With her hand slung around her new husband, Coleen looked radiant in a Grecian-inspired white dress with glitzy detailing around the shoulders and waist.

Sporting a sophisticated updo, Coleen added more glamour to the outfit thanks to a pair of eye-catching diamond drop earrings.

The snap comes days after it was reported lockdown has worked wonders for their relationship, and the mum-of-four is reportedly head over heels in love with her husband.

The duo have “truly bonded” during their time in isolation.

Wayne and Coleen have been holed up in their £6million Cheshire mansion with sons 10-year-old Kai, seven-year-old Klay, four-year-old Kit, and Cass, two.

A source told The Sun Online: “Wayne and Coleen Rooney are stronger than ever after spending lockdown together.

“This is the longest time they have spent together uninterrupted since they got married, and Coleen has fallen in love with Wayne all over again.

“She says that she now remembers what a wonderful, caring companion he is – and an amazing dad to the boys.”

The insider continued: “They’ve been through the mill, but the last couple of months have been a revelation to them all.

“It’s going really well and truly bonded them as a loving, family unit.”
