Destiny’s Child singer LeToya Luckett has revealed the pain she endured after she was brutally axed from the world-famous girl group.
LeToya, 39, was part of the original Destiny’s Child line up and was a childhood friend of lead singer, Beyoncé.
After joining the group in 1993, which was then a foursome alongside Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and LaTavia Roberson, LeToya was left heartbroken when she was given the boot.
However, six years after catapulting to fame, LeToya departed the band in 2000, after being cut out of the music video for the hit single, Say My Name.

She later discovered that she and LaTavia had been replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin, leading to a legal dispute with Matthew Knowles, Bey’s dad and the group’s manager.
Now, in a rare Instagram Live video, the singer has spoken for the first time expressing her heartbreak and emotion about her life.
“[After leaving the band], I didn’t know what I wanted to do, of course at that time I was about 18.

“I hadn’t lived my life as a normal teenager, I hadn’t gone to college…
“I didn’t desire to be in the entertainment industry at all. I wanted to go to work [in a shop] or in a mall, something simple,” she revealed.
Sharing the news of how she lived her life, she confessed: “During my journey, I was staying at people’s houses, I have never told these stories before.

“I slept in a car in LA while I was making my first album, not a lot of nights but a few.
“A water jug, a gallon of water, when I was staying in hotels, I couldn’t really afford anything else.
“So I was like drinking a gallon of water and buying the microwaveable Oodles of Noodles and cooking them on the coffee pot – I can’t believe I’m crying.”

The singer-turned-actress went on to say: “I wasn’t the most secure person because I was so used to having a team mentality and to think of going out on my own was terrifying,” she said.
LeToya continued: “The thought of singing made me angry. I didn’t believe I had a voice, I didn’t believe I could sing, I didn’t believe I could return to the music industry.”

Her life soon turned around, after landing a role in the 2010 film, Preacher’s Kid as well as releasing solo material.
“I went after my first role – Preacher’s Kid and got it – and that got me out of that hotel. I was uncomfortable for a minute.”
Destiny’s Child famously became a trio with Franklin departing after just five months.
The group split in 2006 and have since reunited for just a handful of performances, including during Beyoncé’s set at Coachella and the 2015 Stellar Awards when Bey and Kelly joined Michelle for a performance of her hit single, Say Yes.
LeToya is said to have reunited with Beyoncé while she was performing her On The Run tour with husband, Jay Z.
