EastEnders' Jake Wood tipped for I'm A Celeb castle line-up as he quits soap

EastEnders legend Jake Wood is already planning his next move on TV, if the bookies are anything to go by.

The actor, who has played notorious womaniser Max Branning for 15 years, is set to leave Walford Square in coming weeks.

And his last moments on the BBC soap are tipped to be explosive.

But bookmaker Ladbrokes predicts Jake won’t be gone from screens forever and that fans of the star will see him in the 20th series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

They have already priced his move and slashed his odds to 3/1 as he’s rumoured to join the castle line-up.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Jake’s no stranger to our screens.

“With his time on the Square coming to an end, we reckon I’m A Celeb chiefs could be about to snap him up.”

Jake’s exit from the show has come as a complete shock to EastEnders fans.

However the door will be left for an open comeback to the actor, which is no surprise as he plays a popular character in the show.

A source told The Sun: “Bosses are staying tight-lipped about what they have planned for Max but considering he has played a major part in the show for over fifteen years they are clearly planning something big and he will not be departing Walford quietly.”

Meanwhile, Jake said about his exit: “I’ve had 15 wonderful years at EastEnders and have made some truly great friends.

“I’ll of course miss everyone there but I’m grateful they have left the door open for Max and I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds.”

If the bookies have predicted Jake’s next move correctly, fans will see him once again as he battles it out at Gwrych Castle in North Wales.
