Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray has spoken of his concern after seemingly suffering one of the many coronavirus symptoms.
Adil, 46, revealed on Thursday’s show how he was suffering from a persistent cough.
He told co-host Ranvir Singh how he was “scared to cough” for fears he would be sent home due to the ongoing pandemic.
The ITV star went on to joke that most people are worried to cough in public now in case those around them think they have the virus.
Ranvir chuckled: “People used to cough to hide when they were breaking wind, and now they break wind to hide their coughing”.

Asked how he was, Adil said: “The thing is, he’s been stifling a cough since we came on air.
“Everyone in the country must be going through this at the moment.
“I wanted to cough but I thought if I cough, the editor will come down and send me home.”

“Saying, ‘He’s got the virus, he can’t present!'”
Making light of the situation, Ranvir jibed: “You’re saying your editor is a knee-jerk reactionist?”
Adil continued: “I was in the supermarket queue and people must have done this.

“I haven’t got the virus but you have a tickly throat, you’ll cough to clear out that little bit of something that might be there, I thought, ‘No, I’m not going to cough, I’ll scare everyone!
“No one is coughing anymore! Let’s go back to coughing!”
It was announced yesterday Adil is replacing Ben Shepard on the show while he takes a break to film fellow ITV show Tipping Point.
Adil and fellow GMB Sean Fletcher will step in until Ben returns in September.
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays 6am on ITV
