GMB's Piers Morgan slams former friend Donald Trump in explosive US riot rant

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has turned on his friend and President of the United States Donald Trump after his handling of the race riots spreading America

Piers may have once counted Donald Trump as one of his close friends, but it seems there is really no love lost between the two controversial stars after he slammed him repeatedly on Monday’s show.

The outspoken ITV star joined Susanna Reid on the TV panel to cover the shocking riots taking place over America right now which were ignited by the unlawful killing of black American George Floyd by a policeman.

So far, Trump is yet to address the nation via video link – however, he has regularly tweeted.

He was panned after tweeting ‘when they start looting, we start shooting’ after shops were broken into up and down the country.

Outraged, Piers, who was recently unfollowed by Trump, hit out: “What he should or could have done is get in the Oval Office and say, ‘I have watched this video, it is disgusting and I understand your pain and anger but I don’t want people to be looting and burning buildings. I am getting it sorted'”

Piers added: “He can’t do it.

“I don’t even know if he has it in him. That is the sad thing.

“Everything he has done this year has made things worse not better.”

The star, who owns property in riot savaged Los Angeles, continued: “It is a passionate debate.

“It breaks my heart what happens in America.

“This is the worst I’ve ever seen it. We need to come together.

“Trump has got to stop putting fuel on this fire.”

GMB continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV.
