Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson splits from boyfriend Greg Whitehurst

Nikki Sanderson has confirmed that she has parted ways from long-term partner Greg Whitehurst.

The former lovers had been an item for five years and got together after his marriage to ex-wife Sarah ended.

Nikki, 36, recently revealed that she and Greg were happily getting along while living together during the coronavirus lockdown.

The star, who plays Maxine Minniver in the Channel 4 hit Hollyoaks, began dating Greg in 2015.

Speaking to The Sun, Nikki said: “Sadly Greg and I have decided to separate.

“We remain friends and wish the best for each other in the future.”

The publication also claims that Greg has since signed up for the dating app, Bumble.

Just three months ago, the brunette actress revealed that the pair were “happier than ever” as she gushed about spending every moment together.

“Greg and I are lucky because we live in the ­countryside so there aren’t many people about.

“We’ve been doing workouts together in the back ­garden. We’re happier than ever. We drive each other bonkers but in the best way. We’re happy,” she told the publication.

She went on to say: “People always ask, ‘Are you going to have babies? When are you going to get married?’

“Obviously we’d like all that one day but we’re just happy doing us right now.”

Back in 2015, the actress revealed that despite their relationship getting off to an unexpected start, the pair started dating after Greg’s marriage broke down.

Speaking to the MailOnline, Nikki said their relationship blossomed after knowing one another for several years.
