Idris Elba's wife speaks out about why she 'purposely' contracted coronavirus

Idris Elba’s wife has revealed why she allowed herself to contract coronavirus.

Sabrina Dhowre, 29, has been in self-isolation alongside her actor husband, 47, after he was tested positive for COVID-19.

They’ve been staying indoors since last Monday, with the couple sharing video updates on social media about their conditions.

Sabrina confessed that she caught the virus from her beau on purpose, breaking the news during a live appearance on Oprah Talks.

Speaking to Oprah during a live stream on her new Apple TV+ series, Sabrina said: “Actually, I found out this morning, Oprah, that I tested positive.

“I’m not surprised, as soon as I heard that Idris was potentially exposed.

“I was on my way anyway and I wanted to be with him, I think that’s an instinct as a wife you just want to go and take care.”

Sabrina continued to confess to Ophra that she purposely caught the virus and made the choice to not make any changes to her normal routine.

She said: “We didn’t change the way we interacted, I could have made a decision to put myself in a separate room or maybe stay away and I’m sure people are making those decisions, they’re tough decisions to make.

“I made the decision to want to be with him and still touch him.”

Sabrina’s hubby Idris added in the chat: “On the day of the exposure, we were together at home and had been together right until I had departed to fly so at any point then, and prior to us knowing, if I’d caught it, she’d certainly have caught it in that time period as well.”

Idris told his fans he had contracted the virus on Monday, despite showing no symptoms.
