Kanye West is no stranger to airing his views and thoughts and that was most certainly the case when he burst onto the stage at the 2009 Video Music Awards.
The rapper interrupted pop star Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech after she was crowned Best Female Video at the ceremony.
Now, the 43-year-old Christian has revealed what ran through his head when he decided to take to the stage.
Revealing all to Nick Cannon, Kim Kardashian West’s husband claims he was under instructions from God and that powers above had planned for him to be at the event.
Speaking about the event for the first time in 11 years, West said that God had decided for him to sit on the front row in order to carry out the invasion swiftly.
“Right now, God is giving me the information,” he said.
“If God ain’t want me to run on stage and say Beyoncé had the best video, he wouldn’t have sat me in the front row.

“I would’ve been sitting in the back.”
As Kanye interrupted the speech, Taylor was in the process of thanking fans and her team for the work leading to her famous Silver Spaceman award for You Belong to Me.
Continuing, the Yeezus rapper added: “They wouldn’t have made it the first award. It’s so ridiculous of an idea because, I had never heard of this person [Taylor] before, and ‘Single Ladies’ is, like, one of the greatest videos of all time.”

Despite being seen gulping from a bottle of Hennessy during the evening, Kanye claims it was a “set up”.
“And I was only drinking Hennessy because I didn’t want to go to the awards show because it was a set-up,” he said.
The Bound 2 hitmaker later revealed he had invested “every dime” that he made from his Yeezy sales, into his Sunday Service sermons.
“So instead of paying for ads, I invested it in the church. I invested in spreading the gospel. I invested in saying Jesus’ name on high.”
