Love Island USA set to air in UK with major changes due to coronavirus pandemic

Love Island USA will air in the UK next month with a brand new series post-coronavirus lockdown.

ITV2 confirmed the news that the iconic reality show will broadcast the second season of the US show from September 7.

Love Island Australia kept us entertained throughout July in lockdown, so the new USA season is sure to give viewers their much-needed fix of the iconic reality programme.

Due to the coronavirus lockdown, the upcoming programme has undergone some major adjustments.

Contestants will still head to a dreamy location to find love and win the $50,000 prize money, but changes have been made due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Instead of the hopeful lovebirds travelling overseas, the season will be filmed inside a luxury villa in Las Vegas.

The contestants will be living at the top of Caesars Entertainment’s boutique hotel, The Cromwell, with the stunning location sure to be the ideal location to find romance.

Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, said: “We’re thrilled that ITV2 can bring the latest US version of Love Island to viewers this year.”

Referring to the safe “bubble” the contestants will live in while filming the show, he continued: “Las Vegas may seem like an odd destination for the show but the canny producers have beaten Covid with a show that adheres to all production protocols and that could well be sensational.

“Certainly the ‘villa’ is impressive and the cast diverse and amazing. We believe Love Island fans will embrace this Sin City twist, my bet is the series will be another big hit.”

Host Arielle Vandenberg and narrator Matthew Hoffman will return to oversee the sexy singletons on their quest to find their soulmate.

Making up the gorgeous girls are: Cely Vazquez, 24, Justine Ndiba, 27, Moira Tumas, 28, Kaitlynn Anderson, 27, Mackenzie Dipman, 24.

While the hunky lads are: Tre Forte, 25, Carrington Rodriguez, 22, Jeremiah White, 22, James McCool, 27, Connor Trott, 23 and Johnny Middlebrooks, 22.

UK fans had to stay up late to tune in last year, but this year, ITV2 have switched it to prime time, which certainly softens the blow that the summer series was axed.
