Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'living the fairytale' in LA says pal Gayle King

Meghan Markle ‘s pal Gayle King has claimed the couple are living a “fairytale” life in Los Angeles.

Meghan, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, moved into actor Tyler Perry’s Tuscan villa in Beverly Hills back in March, spending the lockdown with their young son Archie.

With the couple celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary this week, CBS This Morning host Gayle suggested they are happier than ever.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 65-year-old star said: “They’ve got a little baby, Archie, they’re living in the United States, and I think the fairytale continues for them and it just makes me happy.”

The TV personality, who is a close friend of the Duchess of Sussex, also suggested the couple landed the lavish property because they “know people”.

It was originally claimed that talk show host Oprah Winfrey arranged the move, but Gayle disputed those claims.

She said: “Oprah didn’t hook that up. Harry and Meghan know people.

“Tyler knows people. Oprah knows people but she did not make that connection for Harry and Meghan to live in Tyler’s house.”

The $18m (£14.5m) mansion features eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, with a swimming pool tucked to the rear of the property.

Situated in a gated community, the mansion is surrounded by greenery, with sweeping views of Los Angeles.

An exclusive neighbourhood in LA, Meghan and Harry’s new neighbours include A-list stars such as Katy Perry, Jennifer Lawrence and Sir Elton John.

It is not known whether Meghan and Harry are renting the property, or are staying as guests of Perry’s.

Gayle backed the couple’s decision to step down from their royal duties earlier this year, moving stateside for a new life with little Archie.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in January, She said: “I think that they made a decision that they think is best for them, and I know that I’m pulling for them 100%.

“It’s very hard to look at the headlines that said [Queen Elizabeth II] was blindsided or they treated the queen shabbily.”

Before adding: “And so it was tough to see her get so battered and beaten because, at the end of the day, these are two people who are in love, who just want to be a family together.

“And it’s no diss on the queen. It’s no diss on the U.K., none of that.”
