Naya Rivera's ex breaks silence in emotional post about Glee star's death

Ryan Dorsey has posted a touching tribute to his former wife Naya Rivera following her passing earlier this month.

The Glee star’s body was found in Lake Piru on July 13, six days after she vanished after going on a boat trip with her four-year-old son. Naya’s cause of death was confirmed as accidental drowning by the coroner.

Ryan posted a picture of Naya, 33, and their son, Josey, and wrote a touching tribute to the late actress, admitting he is “thankful for our times and our journey that brought us together”.

“This is so unfair…there’s not enough words to express the hole left in everyone’s hearts,” he began.

“I can’t believe this is life now. I don’t know if I’ll ever believe it. You were just here… We were just in the back swimming with Josey the day before. Life just isn’t fair. I don’t know what to say. I’m thankful for our times and our journey that brought us together and gave us the sweetest and kindest smart little boy we could ever hope for.

“I remember sometimes you used to get annoyed at me: “Ryan can you stop snap chatting!”

“I’m glad I didn’t listen to you because I have hundreds and probably thousands of snaps and videos that Josey will have forever and know his momma loved him more than life, and how much fun we had together as he was growing up.

“Life is all about good times and bad times but with Josey it makes the bad a little less so because a part of you will always be with us. He’ll never forget where he came from. We miss you. We will always love you. Love you Meep.”

Rivera was last seen rented a pontoon boat on Wednesday, July 6 with Josey around 1pm.

The alarm was raised hours later when someone, who was also on the water, saw the child asleep on the boat with his mum nowhere to be seen.

24-hours after her body was recovered on July 13, the Ventura County Medical Examiner completed an autopsy determining her wounds were “consistent with a drowning”.

According to E! News, the report read: “The autopsy findings are consistent with a drowning and the condition of the body is consistent with the time that she was submerged.

“No traumatic injuries or disease processes were identified at autopsy. There is no indication from the investigation or examination that drugs or alcohol played a role.”
