Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid came to blows today in a fiery row in a toe-curling war of words.
The ITV duo clashed during Tuesday’s edition of Good Morning Britain over Susanna’s wish to read out the government’s statement in relation to backlash from student nurses.
MP Helen Whately, who is the Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Care, ignited fury after claiming student nurses are not providing a service to the NHS.
Following an appearance from student nurse Jessica Collins, Susanna tried to give the government a right of reply.
However, Piers quickly interrupted her and refused to let her speak.
Enraged by the fact the government have been swerving the show for over two months, Piers hit out: “No, why should we read their statement.
“If they want it read they should come on the show.
“If they are boycotting us then no.”
Looking shocked, Susanna replied: “Well I’m am going to read it .
“I would like to hear it. I want to hear the government’s explanation.”
Talking over Susanna so the statement couldn’t be heard, Piers ranted: “If they want it read that need to come on the show.
“You’re just reading a PR statement for them.”

The incident quickly divide fans who took to social media to gossip about the duo.
One viewer wrote: “I thought I would try GMB again after switching off recently, only to see Piers being vile (again) not allowing Susanna to talk!
“She did well to maintain a professional manner despite Piers bullish and domineering ways.”
Another added: “You Piers owe Susanna a public apology. How dare you shout over your co-host! We have watched you commenting on government interviews that are on other channels – so who the hell do you think you are talking over Susanna when she is reading out a government statement.”
A third continued: “Well played Piers… I’m sure Susanna knew it was coming.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
