Piers Morgan tells Boris Johnson critics to 'shut the f*** up' in fiery rant

Piers Morgan slammed people criticising Boris Johnson just hours after it was announced the Prime Minister was transferred to an intensive care unit with coronavirus.

The Good Morning Britain host, 55, is not one to mince his words and his latest tweets were no different as he defended Johnson, 55.

Last night it was announced that the Prime Minister had been transferred to ICU after his condition ad worsened following his admission to St Thomas’ Hospital early Sunday evening.

Addressing his 7.3million Twitter followers, Piers said: “If you have nothing positive to say about Boris Johnson on here tonight, then shut the f*** up.

“The man is our Prime Minister & he is fighting for his life.”

His post has since racked up over 130,100 likes with fans flooding the replies section.

One follower penned: “So true… he’s also a human being & his partner is expecting a child!! Thoughts are with him.”

“Spot on Piers. It’s a time for unity. Put everything else to one side,” added a second.

While a third went on to tweet: “He literally had the weight of the world on his shoulders, he got ill and still worked from home instead of resting, now he’s in ICU… Really wish him a speedy recovery”

Piers isn’t the only member of the famous family to hit out – his 26-year-old son, Spencer, also took to his social media page replying to Siobhan Thompson with the explicit term: “what a c**t,” after Thompson made a since-deleted tweet.

A statement released by 10 Downing Street read: “Since Sunday evening, the Prime Minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.

“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

“The PM has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputise for him where necessary.

“The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.”

Since contracting Covid-19 Boris has kept his social media followers up to date, with a string of tweets and video messages on his condition.

His fiancée Carrie Symonds, who is expecting her first child with Johnson has also suffered symptoms but didn’t require testing.
