R. Kelly has allegedly been attacked in prison by another inmate, according to TMZ.
The R ‘n’ B singer remains jailed in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago after pleading not guilty to dozens of state and federal sex crime charges in Illinois, Minnesota and New York.
Those charges range from sexual assault to leading a racketeering scheme aimed at supplying girls.
The singer is also accused of having unprotected sex with a minor in 2015 without disclosing that he had herpes, according to an amended indictment which pressed new charges against Kelly in New York in March.

Federal law enforcement sources informed TMZ that Kelly was sitting on his bed when another inmate entered his cell and “jumped him”, quickly becoming violent.
In recent days, Kelly protesters have gathered outside of the jail and due to the volume of crowds, the detention facility has been placed on lockdown several times.
It is still unclear if another inmate or guards broke it up the fight, but was reported the scrap didn’t last very long.

A source informed TMZ that Kelly had no broken bones or serious injuries.
The alleged attack comes weeks after three associates of Kelly were arrested and charged Tuesday by New York federal authorities.
The three are accused of attempting to harass, threaten, intimidate and bribe several of Kelly’s alleged victims of sexual abuse.

Almost immediately after the charges against the men were announced on Wednesday, one of Kelly’s attorneys, Steve Greenberg, posted on Twitter: “Without question, Robert Kelly had nothing to do with any of these alleged acts by those charged.
“He hasn’t attempted to intimidate anyone, or encouraged anyone else to do so. No involvement whatsoever.”
