Geno Silva, who portrayed The Skull who killed Tony Montana in Scarface has died, aged 72.
Silva passed away at his home in Los Angeles, on May 9th from frontotemporal degeneration his family has confirmed.
Throughout his career, he had appeared in more than 60 films and TV episodes over a career that spanned over four decades.
His most iconic role saw him play the assassin in Al Pacino’s gangster film, Scarface.
The Skull was hired by Alejandro to wipe out the infamous drug dealer, Tony Montana, but despite not uttering one word in the film – his look made him one of the most stand out characters.
His character kills Tony with just a single bullet to his back.
Born in 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Geno got his start in the industry when he appeared in the 1974 film Thomasine & Bushrod.
He worked with Steven Spielberg on several films including the hit film, Amistad.
Boasting an impressive showreel, credits include films such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park, A Man Apart and Tequila Sunrise.
Later on, his final roles were in TV shows including Alias, Star Trek: Enterprise and Into The West.
His last role saw him guest star in the 2007 programme, Cane.
Geno is survived by his wife, Pamela, daughter Lucia and grandchildren Eva and Levon – as well as his sister, Elizabeth.
Fans have since flocked to Twitter to share their condolences, with one tweeting: “Farewell, Geno Silva.”
While a second added: “OMG, RIP Geno Silva.”
“RIP to the ‘silencer’ Geno Silva a true legend,” penned a third.
