AceShowbiz – As the Coronavirus outbreak is getting bigger, “The View” co-host Joy Behar is taking a preventive measure. The 77-year-old TV personality announced on Thursday, March 12 that she would be taking a temporary leave from the ABC daytime talk show.
“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy,” she told her co-hosts during taping for Friday episode, according to Variety. “I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”
Behar will not be featured on next week’s episodes of the show. Additionally, she has yet to decide when to return. The other co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin, meanwhile, will continue hosting the daytime talk show, which also films its episode without a live studio audience in light of the disease.
Coronavirus has affected a lot of aspects in entertainment industry with many movies delaying their production and pushing back their release dates. Most recently, Disneyland announced that it would close until the end of March, marking the fourth time in history.

Additionally, Broadway has decided to shut down its shows and plays until mid-April due to the virus, which contracted actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson. New York’s theater bosses, owners and union representatives met to discuss a possible month-long shutdown of all shows and plays on Thursday morning. Actors Equity union chiefs had been demanding the shut down for days, revealing members were concerned about contracting the virus.
