AceShowbiz – Upcoming episodes of “American Idol” will get “really creative” amid the coronavirus lockdown, judge Katy Perry has teased.
As the global health crisis continues to claim the lives of thousands of people around the world, enforcements have been introduced to confine people to their homes in a bid to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
As such, numerous TV shows have been affected, with production shutting down filming on all in-progress series last month (March). “Idol” was one such show, and during a Facebook Live session on Sunday (April 12) night, judge Katy was asked how she and her fellow judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, will continue filming the programme amid the lockdown – which shows no sign of ending any time soon.
“What’s going on with the show since we’re all still in quarantine?” Katy said as she read the question from one viewer.
“Well, I think that we’re all gonna have to be very creative,” she answered. “I know that we’re going to get really creative and you’ll just have to be tuning into that creativity that we are probably going to create from our individual homes… We’ll see how this goes.”
Katy, who also said she’d “love to” perform on the new season of Idol if at all possible, opened up about how she’s coping during the lockdown.
The “Never Worn White” star is currently expecting her first child with fiance Orlando Bloom, and admitted she’s having “ups and downs” as she negotiates the unprecedented situation.
“Just think of the things to be grateful for and that puts your mind in a good place,” she urged. “I love you. I miss you guys. It’s a crazy time. This is a weird and wild time and I’m sure a lot of you are going through a lot of emotions. I’m in the same club… I wish I had some answers.”
“I hope that we can all get our smile back again soon. You guys stay safe and stay healthy.”
