BBC Breakfast fans were left ‘concerned’ for Naga Munchetty on Friday, as she was absent from the programme for the second day in a row.
Naga usually presents the show towards the end of the week alongside Charlie Stayt – with Dan Walker and Sally Nugent taking over the earlier week shifts.
However, this week Naga was replaced by Nina Warhurst, who sat alongside Charlie on the red sofa to grill politicians including Keir Starmer and discuss the latest sporting news.
This isn’t the first time Naga has been absent from the show, as Nina also replaced her on Thursday (30 September) – and she hasn’t taken to social media to explain her absence, either.
Her absence has left fans of the show concerned for Naga, and taking to Twitter in droves to wonder where she is.
One worried viewer penned: “Why isn’t Naga doing the interview?!”, as someone else said: “Is Naga being quietly phased out?”
“Is Nina Warhurst the new Naga Munchetty?” another social media user wondered.
Someone else was clearly missing Naga’s influence, as they said: “Best mornings are with Carol, Charlie and Naga. Great way to start the day!”
Naga hasn’t offered an update on social media about her absence, but she did tell fans last week that she was getting over a cold.
Responding to one worried fan on social media, Naga tweeted: “Just getting over a cold Thanks for asking! X”.
But it looks like she’s feeling a lot better now, as she has been updating fans on her running journey as she builds up an exercise routine.
Naga looked exhausted but cheerful as she posted a very sweaty selfie on Instagram from her latest run, wearing a navy blue t-shirt and bluetooth headphones.
She captioned the photo on Wednesday: “Gorgeous day. Run done. Now to get on with Wednesday. Hope you have a good one x.”
When one curious fan wondered how far Naga was pushing herself, she explained: “5 [kilometres] today Building up slowly!”
Naga also explained she’s not in training for any particular running event – and she’s slowly recovering from tendonitis, a common running injury.
One fan commented: “Well done Naga. Are you training for a particular event? How’s the tendonitis?”
As Naga responded: “No and slowly getting better… thanks for asking x”.
