BBC Breakfast viewers distracted by politician’s ‘disorganised’ kitchen

Working from home does have its benefits, but when you’re faced with a home press interview in front of thousands of viewers, it can lead eyes to wander around your home.

On Tuesday morning’s BBC Breakfast this was certainly the case for Labour’s Shadow Health secretary as many viewers couldn’t help but be distracted by the unorganised shelves behind him in his kitchen.

While being interviewed by presenter Louise Minchin about the coronavirus pandemic and vaccination passports, Jonathan Ashworth gave insight and his opinion on what steps the country should take next.

Jonathan gave his thoughts about the government’s proposed views on vaccination passports and labour’s stance on it.

When asked about a form of domestic vaccine passports, Jonathan said: “We’re very sceptical and we’re keen to hear more details from ministers as to how they expect this to work.

“I think Boris Johnson was unconvincing last night at the press conference, he couldn’t actually explain his own policy.”

He added: “He’s in a muddle, he’s at sixes and sevens.”

Although he was very passionate in talking politics, many viewers were distracted by his kitchen which had ‘disorganised’ shelves evidently behind him in the background.

BBC Breakfast viewers took to Twitter to air their views.

One onlooker said: ” @JonAshworth ’s Wife is gonna be furious he did that interview infront of the kitchen unit with all the bairns toys on it. Whole tidy room and he chose THAT spot. #BBCBreakfast.”
