Tonight could be one for the history books for Billie Piper, as the screen star is up for the title of Best Leading Actress at the BAFTA TV award ceremony.
Ahead of the event, Billie, 38, shared a video of herself getting ready for the red carpet, seen fresh out of the shower in a designer bathroom.
Wrapping one towel around her waist and another around her head, the Doctor Who star could be seen leaning on a white and silver sink, her beauty regime underway.
In the clip, Billie faced the camera as she discussed the prize giving to come, asking her co-writer Lucy Prebble: “Do you think I’ll win best actress?”
“I honestly do think you’ll win best actress!” Lucy replied, only for Billie to wonder: “Do you want me to win best actress?”
“Given the choice, yes I do want you to win best actress,” Lucy answered. “I also think you, genuinely, are the best actress. And the thing I care most about is justice – and you!”
Billie is one of five nominees in the Leading Actress category, competing against the likes of Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones and Michaela Coel for I May Destroy You.
Her series, I Hate Suzie, was released last August, with Billie and Lucy working to tell the story of a grown-up child star who suffers a trauma when compromising images from her phone are leaked.
A hit with viewers and critics alike, the show was commissioned for a second series earlier this year, with Billie returning to portray her character of Suzie Pickles.
Billie and her collaborator Sarah have worked together before – they teamed up on the hit series Secret Diary of a Call Girl in 2007, and again on 2012’s The Effect.
Despite having found fame at an early age herself, Billie previously revealed she foremost wanted to tell the story of a modern woman, rather than drawing from her own experiences of celebrity culture.
“Well, Suzie being an actress is really sort of metaphorical, really,” she told Collider last year.
“It’s saying that thing that I was saying before, which is, you know, you don’t have to be an actress to be a woman and have to approach everything with a different identity. So it was interesting to make her that.
She added: “But as I said before, the idea of your phone being hacked is something that we can all relate to. So it’s not, this is a story about a famous person. It’s like, this is a story about a modern woman.”
I Hate Suzie success aside, Billie has also been praised for her film directorial debut with Rare Beasts, which is currently airing in cinemas.
A nightmare-fantasy take on the conventional rom-com, the film also stars Lily James and Leo Bill, with Billie in the leading role of single mother Mandy.
