Cheryl unrecognisable as she flaunts makeover after year-long social media break

Cheryl has left fans hanging for more than a year, but the former Girls Aloud babe is back in full force.

After a month-long break from social media, the Call My Name songstress is back posting to Instagram, and has undergone a glamorous transformation in the form of a makeover.

With her shoulder-length brunette tresses teased into waves after a bouncy blow dry, Cheryl looked dewy as ever in a nude makeup look.

The 37-year-old stunner was sporting a slightly feathered brow look for the low-key photoshoot, along with glossy pink lipstick and just a hint of pink in her cheeks.

Wearing an oversized white shirt and long pale pink pleated skirt, Cheryl posed alongside her glam makeup squad for a cheeky mirror selfie.

“We back!” Cheryl captioned the snap on Instagram, adding the caveat: “All Covid tested!”

And fans were clearly ecstatic to see her valiant return to social media, with her former bandmate Kimberley Walsh among the first to comment: “There she is!” with a heart-eyed emoji.

Breathe Slow songstress Alesha Dixon was also quick to post, as she responded: “Missed you @cherylofficial.”

Someone else penned: “Oh hello stranger!”, as another fan quickly typed: “Omg we’ve missed you so much!”

In just a couple of hours, the photoset had already attracted more than 135,000 likes from some of Cheryl’s 3.5million followers.

Cheryl has reportedly taken a more chilled approach to life over the past year, with her son Bear’s dad Liam Payne admitting she doesn’t want their son to follow them into the limelight.

Liam was quizzed about whether he’d ever let three-year-old Bear compete on a TV show like The X Factor, but he replied thoughtfully: “This is a tricky one. I think his mum hopes he’s going to be this yoga person.

“His mum is very chilled these days.”

The pair were busy co-parenting during lockdown, with Liam admitting he was “closer to [Cheryl and Bear] than ever before”.

“Cheryl is literally the best person to co-parent with,” the former One Direction member gushed.

“We spend a lot of time on FaceTime. It’s been really lovely, and I’m closer to them than I’ve ever been before, actually, which is really, really nice.”

He even brought Bear some toys, handing them over the fence to abide by Covid regulations when the youngster saw them on FaceTime.

In April, Cheryl was snapped taking her dog for a walk with a pal – the first time she’d been seen in months.

She also briefly appeared back in February in order to support amputee Billy Monger, who had been raising money for Comic Relief with a 140-mile triathlon.

But now it looks like she could be soon to make an epic comeback, and fans have their fingers crossed for plenty more Cheryl where that came from.
