Coronation Street viewers will bid farewell to a soap icon next week as Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) sadly passes away.
Ken Barlow (William Roache) confides in Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) that Norris wants to meet up as he has some important news.
However, they’re shocked to hear from Freda Burgess (Ali Briggs) that Norris has collapsed and been taken to hospital with a suspected stroke.
Friends Ken, Rita and Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) arrive at the hospital to be met by an ashen-faced Freda who breaks the news that Norris died half an hour ago.
Ken later reveals that Norris wanted to share some important news with him.

In the Rovers, they raise a toast to dearly departed Norris.
As Mary and Freda argue over Norris’s funeral arrangements, Claudia Colby (Rula Lenska) arrives.
When they argue over where best to hold the wake, Rita steps in and asserts that Norris would choose the street.
As the row over Norris’s funeral escalates, Mary announces she’s stepping down and Freda can sort out the funeral herself.

Elsewhere, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) struggles to muster up any interest in Alina’s (Ruxandra Porojnicu) Romanian wedding plans, especially when he finds ex Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) crying over a petition to have Hope removed from school.
Hearing what’s happened Phill Middlemiss (Jamie Kenna) calls on Fiz and suggests a bite to eat.
When Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) reveals to Tyrone that Phill has taken Fiz to the bistro, his jealousy is evident.
Unable to help himself, Tyrone follows them and when Phill goes to the loo, Tyrone blurts out to Fiz how much he misses her and the girls. How will Fiz react?

As Tyrone reveals how much he enjoyed their kiss and how his engagement to Alina was an accident, Fiz listens with disbelief. Will she take Tyrone back?
Tyrone tells Alina that Fiz is thinking of moving away with the girls and he can’t possibly go to Romania with her at the moment. Alina’s hurt.
Alina is further heartbroken as Tyrone admits he wants to get back with Fiz.
She later dumps their couples shot at the garage with the word ‘liar’ scrawled across Tyrone’s forehead, she ensures a very public humiliation before climbing in a taxi to leave.

As Fiz and Phill head to the bistro, can a desolate Tyrone convince Alina to stay?
Elsewhere, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) is stressed when the food delivery is late.
As Elaine Jones (Paula Jones) tries to placate the diners, Alya juggles a call with the delivery driver and another from the bank.
The delivery finally arrives but Alya’s relief turns to horror when a customer points at a tarantula crawling across a table, which has escaped from a boy’s rucksack.
As the diners flee, Alya tries to stay calm as the boy searches for his pet.
With the spider finally caught, a tearful Alya tells Elaine that Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) has somehow managed to empty their bank account.
Alya’s horrified to learn that the call she took earlier wasn’t from the bank, but from a fraudster and she unwittingly allowed them to clear out the account, not Yasmeen.
In desperation, Alya leaves a voicemail for Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) telling him how she’s been scammed out of thousands and doesn’t know what to do.
Zeedan later arrives at Speed Daal as Alya is forced to explain her mistake to Yasmeen.
Her brother later offers to transfer £50k to tide her over.
