Coronation Street's Stu and Yasmeen 'destined for romance' as fans spot chemistry

Coronation Street’s Yasmeen Nazir could be set for a new romance after sustained domestic abuse between her and former husband Geoff Metcalfe.

And fans at home are predicting she’ll hit things off with homeless character Stu Carpenter after spotting ‘chemistry’ between the pair – despite a blazing row over his hospital bed.

Stu was caught up in a fire at Speed Daal set up by Zeedan to rinse the property for insurance money – but Zeedan is keen to let Stu take the blame for it in the eyes of Yasmeen.

Taking to Facebook, one fan predicted: “I think Stu and Yasmeen would make a great couple.

“The characters seem to have great chemistry and Yasmeen has been going above and beyond, what with trying to get Stu a job at Speed Daal and soon to be offering him a room.

“I know Stu is going to make a joke about cleaning standards which will give Yasmeen flashbacks to Geoff, but Stu is a really sympathetic guy and I think he’d sincerely apologise for any offence he causes.”

They added: “Yasmeen deserves happiness!”

Someone else quickly responded: “100% agree they become a couple!”

As someone else agreed: “I like Stu. Just hope he will be okay after the fire!”

Yasmeen has already compared Stu to her ex-husband Geoff, ranting at him about being a liar while he was lying in a hospital bed.

But after all she’s been through, it’s understandable Yasmeen would be traumatised.

She yelled at him: “My restaurant has burned to the ground. I’ve met men like you before – nothing is ever your fault. How dare you?”

And things are set to get worse before they get better, as Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that Stu is set to move in with Yasmeen.

But an offhand comment about his high cleaning standards will throw her off-guard and take her right back to living with abuser Geoff.

Geoff used to scrawl crosses on parts of furniture he didn’t think were clean enough for his standards, while Yasmeen set about scrubbing the house down for him.

And though she’s been getting stronger since his death, will this send Yasmeen down a slippery slope?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV at 7:30pm.
