Dancing on Ice star confirmed as Paralympian Stef Reid amid Arlene judging rumours

Paralympian Stef Reid is the latest celebrity confirmed for Dancing On Ice.

There were also rumours that former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips will be joining the judging panel.

Richard Arnold made the announcement on Good Morning Britain telling viewers: “We can exclusively reveal though the latest contestant who will be hoping to impress the judges on the ice.”

“She’s a track and field Paralympian. She’s won medals at World level, not to mention a couple of gongs at the Paralympic Games. She’s also a semifinalist celebrity Master Chef back in 2018, any ideas anyone?”

He then revealed it’s Paralympian Stef Reid, and joked he would be “DOA if I was on DOI.”

A clip of Stef was then shown: “I’m going to be picking up a new sport this winter, and it comes with a little bit of showbiz. I’m going to be a contestant on Dancing on Ice and it’s a little bit scary but I cannot wait.”

Richard also discussed the rumours that Arlene will join the judging panel for the ice skating show.

“It was only last week they were reporting here on Good Morning Britain that Dame Arlene was set to become the oldest camp mate ever on I’m A Celeb this year,” he began.

“Fresh reports this morning indicate that the former Strictly judge will now be taking a seat on the Dancing On Ice judging panel. The 78-year-old could return to primetime TV for the first time since Strictly back in 2009.”

He continued: “Arlene said after becoming a Dame in the Queen’s Birthday on his list earlier this year, she hasn’t even thought about slowing down. She’s a mature woman with decades of experience in the world of dance, which is seen as a huge bonus for dancing on ice.”

Richard joked: “Arlene signing on the dotted line means the DIY judging panel could feature two men and two women spanning an extensive age range…. you can tell that was penned by a young producer this morning.”

Stef will be joining Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor, Happy Mondays star Bez, and he suggested S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens and Paul Gascoigne’s son Regan would also be taking part.

More stars will be announced in the coming weeks, with twelve celebrities taking on the challenge.
