Dancing on Ice's Faye Brookes breaks down in tears over messages from loved ones

Faye Brookes was reduced to tears during Sunday’s final of Dancing on Ice as she received heartfelt video messages from her loved ones.

The 33-year-old former Coronation Street star was watching sweet messages from her family, friends and boyfriend alongside her skating partner Matt Evers.

As her loved ones told her how proud they were, Faye wiped tears from her eyes as she watched the video montage in an empty cinema.

Tonight’s finalists were Faye, Colin Jackson and Sonny Jay who all performed three times in the nail-biting final episode.

Faye did incredibly well and scored a perfect score of 40 after performing her impressive Swan Lake routine.

The actress revealed she struggled to keep her emotions in check ahead of the ITV show’s final.

She explained: “I had a moment yesterday where I got to look back at my best bits.

“The team had put together these lovely messages from my family and friends to say good luck for the final and two minutes into the video I was just a mess. I don’t think I’ve fully recovered!

“And I said I need to stop crying. All the viewers keep seeing is me crying! However, I must say that this experience has been the best thing that I have ever done hands down.”

She continued: “I’ve fallen in love with everyone. I can’t not see me keeping in touch with everyone and certainly taking this skill I have learnt on.

“I have been given a gift. You don’t get that anywhere else.”

It’s not been an easy series as numerous celebrities were forced to withdraw after sustaining injuries or falling ill.

Jason Donovan was the most recent famous face to withdraw from an episode due to injury, as his back rendering him out of action.

Denise van Outen and Billie Shepherd both had to leave the competition permanently as they also sustained painful injuries, while Rufus Hound and Joe-Warren Plant were also forced off the show after testing positive for coronavirus.
