Many have often wondered what it’s like to be married to one of Britain’s most talented and in demand actors, but for David Tennant’s wife Georgia, it’s a reality rather than a daydream.
So to celebrate actor David Tennant’s 50th birthday Daily Star is taking a peek inside his marriage to wife Georgia Tennant.
Georgia and David met in 2008 while filming the Doctor Who episode The Doctor’s Daughter, in which Georgia played David’s genetically engineered daughter.
The couple hit it off straight away and in January 2011, several newspapers and online publications in the UK reported that the couple were engaged.

Two months later, Georgia gave birth to their daughter Olive in March 2011. The couple later married in the same year on December 30.
The Shakespearean actor celebrated his wedding to Georgia with a New Year’s Eve reception at London’s Globe Theatre and invited famous faces such as actor Stephen Fry and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star Will Mellor.
Since then the couple’s family has expanded exponentially as David publicly announced in January 2013 during a Jonathan Ross television interview that he was expecting his second child with Georgia.
On May 2, 2013, Georgia gave birth to their son Wilfred.
In November 2015, David Tennant announced that he and his wife had recently had another baby daughter, Doris, who was followed by their daughter Birdie in 2020.
David also adopted Georgia’s first son Ty shortly after they had wed.

Georgia comes from showbiz royalty and is the daughter of Peter Davison, who played the fifth incarnation of Doctor Who from 1981 to 1984.
Her mother, Sandra Dickinson, was also an actress and played Trillian in the TV version of A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Speaking frankly on their marriage, David, who played the 10th Doctor from 2005 to 2010, recalls feeling stupid about the idea.
“Because Doctor Who had run through my life like a stick of rock, to end up marrying the daughter of one of the Doctors, it all felt a bit stupid,” he told the BBC’s Gaby Roslin.
Georgia has also stepped into the role of producer, with recent credits being BBC One’s drama Staged in 2020.
Georgia co-starred in and produced the six-part comedy during the first Covid-19 lockdown with her husband, and actor Michael Sheen.

It also looks like Georgia and David have already launched a third generation of actors too.
Their oldest son Ty has appeared in films such as Tolkien and had a starring role in BBC drama Casualty. Both he and sister Olive also appeared on the spoof show The Five(ish) Doctors.
On December 30, 2020, Georgia took to Instagram to share a tribute to her husband marking their nine-year anniversary in the most adorable yet humorous way.
The actress uploaded a smiling photo of the Des actor wearing a Christmas jumper.
Georgia captioned the post: ”Not sure which decision I’m more pleased about; the marriage or the jumper,” alongside hashtags “it is an excellent jumper” and “nine years”.
Many fans jumped to the comment section to wish the couple a very happy anniversary.

One fan chimed: “Absolute love of my life, happy anniversary.”
Another fan penned: “Nine years is a long time to own a sweater!! Kidding. Happy anniversary.”
While a third admiring follower said: “This is just a beautiful photo all round.”
Though the couple appear to have happier moments the majority of the time, the pair experienced an incredible low when Georgia was diagnosed with cancer in February 2018.
The star was successfully treated for early-stage cervical cancer and she publicly shared her story in June 2020 during Cervical Screening Awareness Week in order to raise awareness of attending regular cervical screening tests.
Receiving her results at the time Georgia said: “Results are back. It was cancer. They’ve got it all but it was cancer.
“Survived cancer without ever realising I had it. As you can tell I’m still processing this, it’s quite a thing to get your head round.”
