EastEnders star Milly Zero has a jaw-dropping connection to one Hollywood legend.
The actress, who plays Dotty Cotton on Albert Square, actually has an incredible link to Jackie Chan – international star of kung-fu movies including Police Story and the Rush Hour franchise.
And though her character’s life might be rather down to earth, Milly’s real life is far from ordinary.
Milly has plenty of connections in high places, including her famous rapper boyfriend, Ransom FA – who has produced records like Man of the Moment and Energy Zone.
But a link to Jackie Chan takes it all to a new level.
Millie starred alongside him in 2017 flick The Foreigner, starring legends including Jackie and Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.
She opened up to TV Mag about the experience, explaining: “I did a whole day on a film once with Jackie Chan – that was an experience!
“He was showing me all his videos of his martial arts.
“We were in the same green room all day so got to hear loads of his stories, it was so surreal.
“And he has a personal masseuse. I mean literally, that’s the goal isn’t it?”
Milly officially joined the cast of EastEnders just two years later in 2019, and has appeared as Dotty ever since. But before that, she landed a role as Hannah in CBBC series All At Sea – a role she played from 2013 until 2015.
The film isn’t her only connection to Hollywood, as she also attended the same school as stars including Adele and Tom Holland.
Born in 1999, she studied for her A-Levels at The Brit School, taking courses in English Literature, Dance, Music and Theatre.
On joining EastEnders, she gushed: “I am honestly so excited to be playing Dotty Cotton and joining the E20 family, especially playing alongside June Brown, who I have been watching on my telly since I was a young girl.
“Her and Dotty have such an interesting relationship to explore with a complicated history, so I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. It all feels very surreal and I am buzzing already.”
And Milly clearly always knew she wanted to be an actress, as she recently shared a snippet from her childhood diary on Twitter.
Translating her six-year-old handwriting, Milly tweeted: “‘Dear dentis thank you for making my teeth nis and lovely for my smiles in the movies when I am an actress. Happy Easter. This is a baby rabbit being born. See ya. It is in a Easter egg. From Melissa.’ – Me, 2005, age 6!
“Nothing’s changed… nothing at all….” she laughed, including a drawing of said baby rabbit.
