It may not have had Kevin Bacon or those Eighties tunes, but we have a soft spot for the Footloose remake.
Set in a small Southern US town that has banned dancing among its youth, the film featured sensational dance sequences and a teenage romance.
As the movie celebrates its 10 year anniversary, Daily Star looks at what the cast did afterwards.
Kenny Wormald
Zac Efron and Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford were lined up to step into Kevin Bacon’s shoes at various stages. Luckily for Kenny Wormald, both actors dropped out.
Kenny, now 37, had been a back up dancer on tours for Justin Timberlake and the Pussycat Dolls before he landed the Footloose role of Ren McCormack. Ren was a Boston-raised teenager who shakes up the small town he moves to in the film.
Since Footloose, Ren has guest starred in Fear The Walking Dead, dance film Honey 3: Dare To Dance and indie horror Happy Hunting.
He and Julianne Hough also faced rumours that they had found romance off-camera, something which Hough’s publicist was forced to deny, saying: “It’s all completely untrue,” as Hough was dating Ryan Seacrest at the time.
Julianne Hough
Julianne, now 33, had starred in the Christina Aguilera/Cher cult classic Burlesque in 2010. She had also appeared as a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars, winning an impressive two seasons with her celebrity partners.
In Footloose, Julianne played Ariel Moore, the rebellious, free spirited daughter of a reverend.
Since then Julianne returned to Dancing With The Stars as judge and appeared in 2012’s Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise.
Julianne’s niece Star also dropped some huge gossip as she claimed Julianne had slept with actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and that she didn’t have good things to say about his bedroom prowess.
She said on a TikTok video in May this year: “My aunt has slept with Leonardo DiCaprio … Apparently, he’s not good in bed, though.”
Miles Teller
Handpicked by Nicole Kidman for his film debut in 2010’s Rabbit Hole, Miles went on to play Willard Hewitt, best friend to newcomer Ren.
Since Footloose, Mile, now 34, has seen his career go from strength to strength. He appeared in the drummer drama Whiplash (2014), which earned him several award nominations.
He also starred in the Divergent trilogy and in 2015’s Fantastic Four.
Andie MacDowell
Groundhog Day and Four Weddings and a Funeral legend Andie, now 63, played Vi Moore, the role originally played by Dianne Wiest.
Since Footloose, Andie has appeared in Magic Mike XXL, critically acclaimed indie drama Love After Love and horror comedy Ready Or Not.
She is also L’Oreal’s longest-serving spokesmodel, having been ‘Worth it’ since 1986.
Andie is also starring in new Netflix series Maid with her daughter Margaret Qualley, who she shares with ex Paul, as well as son Justin and daughter Rainey.
Rainey is an actress and singer, appearing in Oceans 8, Perfect and the TV show, Mad Men, and enjoying a successful music career, which she produces under the name Rainsford.
Margaret has also starred in big Hollywood films The Nice Guys and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Dennis Quaid
Named by the Guardian as one of the best actors to have never been nominated for an Academy Award, Dennis, now 67, is best known for Postcards From The Edge, Far From Heaven, The Day After Tomorrow and Great Balls of Fire!
He played the stern Rev. Shaw Moore in Footloose.
Since then he has appeared in the TV dramas Vegas, Fortitude and Goliath.
Dennis has been married a whopping four times, and has son Jack with ex-wife Meg Ryan, who also went into acting.
Jack is best known for his stint in the Hunger Games, and is set to star in the forthcoming fifth installment of the Scream franchise, which is set to be released in 2022.
