I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans reckon there is some manipulation going on behind the scenes in order to keep some of the celebrities in camp.
Both DJ Naughty Boy and Strictly Come Dancing star Arlene Phillips decided to quit on Tuesday after a rift appeared between the Clink and Main Camp – with Snoochie Shy selecting Naughty Boy to face her in the Bushtucker Trial.
He accused them of seeing him as the “weakest link”, and said he had to “go with his heart” when he made the decision to quit the show.
But GMB’s Richard Madeley begged them both to sleep on their choice – and they took his advice.
The next day, Naughty Boy spotted his robin pal Sunny, which he took as a ‘sign’ to stay in the show – but after the tense quitting talk the night before, fans are sure that bosses had a quiet word with Naughty Boy and Arlene behind the scenes.
And, after it was Richard instead of Naughty Boy chosen to take part in Wednesday’s Trial, some are sure the votes were fudged in order to convince Naughty Boy nobody is against him.
Taking to Twitter, one fan theorised: “I reckon Naughty Boy did get the votes but to keep him in they let him off this once!”
Someone else predicted: “He probably just got reminded he’s gonna get paid to be on this show and get a lot of media attention from staying on.”
As another fan theorised: “I think Naughty Boy and Arlene have been spoken to by the producers off camera because they quickly came to their senses overnight #ImACeleb.”
“Yes 100% they did it so he didn’t walk!” someone else agreed.
As a fifth fan wrote: “No way was Naughty Boy not voted for the trial! They’ve fiddled the votes to stop him walking, 100%!”
However, other fans weren’t so sure, as one argued: “They closed the votes before they showed his meltdown, they’re not daft!”
As someone else said: “They closed the vote before he kicked off I think.”
In Wednesday’s episode, Arlene admitted in the Telegraph: “My mood changed in the night. The boys have been fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”
She later told Naughty Boy: “Let Sunny tell you what to do.”
Naughty Boy then informed David and Arlene that he felt Sunny was trying to change his mind and telling him to stay.
“I’m going to the main camp to see how I feel when I get there,” he explained. “I’m feeling buoyant, I’m feeling good, I’m so blessed to have these guys.”
