Tom Daley’s Olympic diving partner Matty Lee is reportedly set to take part in this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
The hunky athlete – who shot to fame after winning gold alongside Tom at this years Olympic games in Tokyo -is thought to have been signed up by ITV to star in the show.
A source told The Sun: “Matty became one of the most talked about names in the Olympics Games this summer.
“There had been some talk of getting Tom on board before but after his performance in the Olympics Matty became a hot favourite and his diary was free. The timing was perfect.
“Matty is young, strong and will thrive under the pressures of the challenges. He is really excited about getting on board and diving into the action.”
EastEnders Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt, 53, and Coronation Street star Simon Gregson, 47, who plays Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, will also reportedly be appearing on the gruelling ITV show later this year.
Former This Morning presenter Richard Madeley, 65, will also reportedly be heading to the Welsh castle.
Also ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips, 78, is set to become the oldest ever contestant on the programme, toppling prime minister Boris Johnson’s dad Stanley from the spot, if she enters camp when the show returns.
In response to the line-up rumours, an I’m A Celebrity spokesman said: “We do not comment on speculation.”
Covid-19 travel restrictions have seen production for the hit endurance reality show return to wales for the second year running.
The set is currently being built with a launch date for the show thought to be imminent.
Ant McPartlin, 45, and Declan Donnelly, 46, have already been sharing behind the scenes snaps as they prepare for the new run of episodes.
It’s been confirmed that this years batch of campmates will enter quarantine two weeks prior to the start of the series in a bid to prevent any outbreaks of covid-19 in the camp or on set.
