Love Island is certainly an odd way to meet someone in the dating world, with sharing a bed together, waking up together and lounging in your pyjamas the first thing you do – whereas the dinner dates and meeting parents come a lot further down the line.
For some couples, the test of time doesn’t work on the outside, and they break things off, which happened with many from the show over the years, but from the 2020 series, four are still going strong, including winners Paige Turley and Finley Tapp.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Paige said: “We always say we can’t believe our series was a year-and-a-half ago and we’ve been living in Manchester for a year. I don’t know where the time has gone – it’s been a relationship of lockdowns really!
“We did it all in reverse, we had the lazy days, pyjamas and seeing you at your worst in the beginning, but now we can go on first dates again.”
The Scottish beauty added: “I’ve had a few favourite memories over the last year or so, in the first lockdown we were in Scotland and painting a fence and it was so simple.
“Spending time with Finn and showing him a bit of my world was great. You can speak about it all you like in the villa, but you never really know until you’re out. I think that was a nice moment for us.
“When we moved out, there were some things I learned about Finn – he is a bit of a mummy’s boy. He’s never really had to do chores, he’s never mastered the art of tidying up around the house.
“I think I just complain about him being messy a lot.”
The beauty joked: “Finn thinks the washing machine is magic. He just leaves his s**t on the floor and it somehow manages to be washed and put away.
“He’s getting better though. I remember coming home once and he was hoovering the worktops – he hasn’t quite got the right idea, but it’s been a learning curve for him, bless him.”
Paige revealed that the pair are only just hitting a point where family and friends are able to come over to see their flat, but they’re excited to share their home with their loved-ones.
It’s been 18 months of Paige and Finn being inseparable after needing to make a decision on what they would do during the first lockdown, but they didn’t want to be apart.
The duo have continued going from strength to strength in their relationship and have been living happily in their home since last summer.
