Kate Garraway was mid flow when producer’s cut her short after she’d already been warned by Good Morning Britain producers not to “cause trouble”.
The 54-year-old TV star provided the nation with breaking news that Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre had collected gold in the women’s 2p dinghy heats.
In her excitement, she accidentally began to real off incorrect facts which sent producers into “a spin”.
Ben said: “Bit of breaking news Kate Garraway, the sailors have come up trumps again.
“Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre have collected gold in the women’s 2p dinghy.”
Kate added: “I think they just had to finish in the top 8 to do it didn’t they? That places Hannah Mills as the most successful Olympian ever… for us obviously
“For sailing I think?”
Ben added: “Okay we’re going to check – you’ve sent everyone in our ear into a spin.”
Now bashful, Kate chimed: “I did that earlier on with the whole winter Olympic debacle – they’re shouting at me now, ‘don’t cause me trouble Garraway'”
She added: “Whatever it is, it’s wonderful news, congratulations to them.
“Jez Coleman is always a gold winner for us and he’s at a skate park in Hemel Hempstead, he didn’t get off brilliantly with the horses…”
Before the TV starlet could finish her sentence, she was cut off by chiefs while she was mid-sentence, leading to a slightly awkward weather report.
Earlier this week, the mum-of-two alerted fans that her husband Derek Draper who is battling long Covid has seen “more problems” arise.
Derek’s Covid suffering was so serious that doctors had to place him into an induced coma.
He now has holes in many of his major and vital organs and is far from out of the woods when it comes to his recovery.
It was very touch for Kate’s husband at one point however he was finally released to his family after being hospitalised for over a year.
