Katie Price blasts celebs who have autistic children and 'don't raise awareness'

Katie Price has blasted celebs with autistic children for not using their voice to speak up about the disability.

The 42-year-old took to her Instagram Story to heap praise on ex-Boyzone member Keith Duffy who was appearing on TV to discuss his daughter Mia’s Autism diagnosis.

The former glamour model applauded the star for using his celebrity status to raise awareness about the struggles those with autism encounter to be accepted, and for not being “ashamed or embarrassed” like other parents.

On her Instagram she shared a picture of Keith’s interview and captioned it: “Good to see @officialkeithduffy talking about Autism and being accepted, I know other celebs who have children with Autism who could also help make awareness and support families and offer support but don’t.

“Makes me think they are ashamed or embarrassed they have a child with Autism because they are happy to be in the limelight themselves but don’t use their status for a good purpose that can make a difference.”

The mum-of-five has been a huge voice in the autism community, speaking out frequently about the struggles of her eldest son Harvey who has the disability along with Prader-Willi syndrome, partial blindness, and a learning disability.

She has been candid about Harvey’s autism in her documentary Katie Price: Me And Harvey where they went looking for residential colleges that could provide specialist support.

Katie recently posted the aftermath of Harvey smashing their car window as a result of a bout of hiccups.

The star filmed the debris that was left lying on the grass by the vehicle and captioned it: “Welcome to my bank holiday Monday. A normal day of Harvey’s reaction to hiccups.”

Fans praised Katie for staying so calm and being candid
