Lorraine Kelly has confessed that she feels quite “worried” for Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor, after she was confirmed as the first contestant to be taking part on Dancing on Ice.
On Monday, Lorraine broke the news that Sally will be joining the dancing competition and will be strutting her stuff on ITV’s much-loved programme.
But while talking to the actress Sabrina Bartlett, who is Sally’s daughter’s co-star on Bridgeton, Lorraine also admitted to having reservations as Sally herself said she has “a lot of training to do.”
Lorraine also said she’s too scared to take part in the show herself and probably never will.
Sabrina also agreed with Lorraine’s stance and confessed that she too would feel petrified taking part.
On Monday’s morning programme, Corrie legend Sally admitted she felt “nervous” about participating in the competition but believed it was now or never.
Talking to Lorraine via video link, Sally, 58, said: “This morning I was really nervous, because only a few people knew about it. But now that everyone knows about it, I’m really scared.”
Lorraine also asked Sally if she had support from her co-stars who have dazzled their way through the competition over the years.
Corrie’s Faye Brookes, Samia Longchambon and Lisa George have all participated in Dancing On Ice and Sally admitted she broke the news of her appearance on the new series to them first.
Talking more about their support, Sally said: “They’ve been fabulous, because what I did was set up a Whatsapp group with all the Corrie ice-skaters and I told them because I didn’t want them to find out through press, I wanted to tell them myself.
“And the response was so supportive and they were all guessing who my partner was going to be- of course you won’t know who your partner is until November but they were lovely.”
The Weatherfield resident, who was pictured taking part in a training session over the weekend, also told the presenter that she has no prior experience figure skating and is looking forward to learn her new routines.
