Love Island bosses are facing another “fix” backlash after Teddy Soares was again targeted in a challenge.
Fans accused producers of trying to hijack his relationship with Faye Winter by forcing her to watch footage of his in Casa Amor.
Faye flew into a rage and branded Teddy a “liar” over the clips, prompting viewers to claim he was being “stitched up”.
The drama comes after almost 5,000 fans complained to Ofcom over Teddy previously being “set up”.
One fan raged about the latest “stitch-up”: “I’m convinced the producers have a vendetta against Teddy and Faye – how many times are they gonna sabotage them like this?”
Many believed that Teddy was made to look like a cheat when he was captured locking lips with someone other than his partner Faye Winter in a postcard sent to the girls in the main villa.
However the image had been taken as part of a Truth or Dare game with the bombshells over at Casa Amor – but the damage had already been done as Faye decided to get to know some of the new boys.
This led to fans of the dating show to take to Twitter and express their frustration at what they had witnessed.
One person wrote: “Nah!!! I hate this so much. Ofcom. I’m coming.”
Another said: “Whichever producer did that postcard needs to lose their job btw.”
The ITV2 show, which kicked off in June, initially faced backlash from over 1,000 viewers after contestant Danny Bibby became embroiled in a race row following his entrance on July 15.
Bosses allowed the 25-year-old from Manchester to apologise from inside the villa despite having used the N-word on social media.
In a statement on the show, he said: “I’d like to take the time to apologise to anyone that may have taken offence to my inappropriate remark. I never meant anything malicious by this comment at all.
“I am not a racist person and it’s unacceptable language and ignorant. I meant no offence and feel like I have really learnt from my mistakes and will never use that word again. I am a kind loving person and hopefully you get to see that in the show.”
Love island is no stranger to complaints after a total of 4,197 reached out to Ofcom in 2018 when Jack Fincham’s ex Ellie entered Casa Amor leaving partner Dani Dyer in tears.
At the time, ITV said: “We understand your strong feelings towards the clip that was shown to Dani.
“When Islanders agree to appear on Love Island they do so with the aim of finding love. However, they are also aware that they are taking part in a game with a £50,000 prize for the winners.
“We talk at length to all of the Islanders before entering the villa to say that the relationships they form will be tested.”
Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 and ITVHub at 9pm
