BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has branded comedian Alan Carr as not funny after he poked fun at her favourite hobby, golf.
During an interview, Naga, 46, and Alan, 45, were chatting about the sport when Alan made a joke about her fascination with the hobby.
The BBC host was so unimpressed that she told the much-loved comedian that he wasn’t funny.
Alan began: “Now, you love golf… why?” he giggled cheekily.
Before Naga could respond, Alan continued: “I don’t get it!”
He then went on to reel off a list of what happens when golfers turn up at a course, while telling a joke that went right over the BBC Breakfast presenter’s head.
He continued: “I turn up at a links course [the oldest style of golf course], I’ve got my move v-neck, my pink cheque slacks, I’ve got my loafers.
“I change into my golf gear… what’re we doing?”
Naga paused for a second before replying, sounding slightly confused: “I thought you were in the golf gear already?”
Alan then sighed and snapped: “It’s a joke, Naga!”
In which she responded: “See, I told you you weren’t funny!”
The pair laughed together before moving on, with the comedian adding: “What’s enjoyable about it?!”
The BBC defended her hobby and said: “It’s time spent working on a skill that’s all yours, you can’t blame anyone for a bad shot.
“Unless they’re talking in your back-swing, and the answer to that is, ‘Is my golf interrupting your conversation?'”
Alan squealed at the thought of Naga confronting people, saying: “Ooo, you’d say that to people?”
She replied: “Yes, I said that to someone the other week.
“I don’t like people talking while I’m playing golf, not while I’m taking my shot!”
She went on to reveal it’s really good for mental health to be outside in the elements, surrounded by people.
This comes after the Daily Star reported that Naga Malso quipped at Alan during the podcast during an interview on his weekly Life’s a Beach podcast, asking the comedian “are you bored of me?”
Naga questioned whether Alan was getting “bored” of her as he tried to bring their interview to an end due to running out of time.
Naga and Alan chatted about everything travel-related on the podcast, from disastrous destinations to airplane antics but as time was getting on, Alan had tried call it a day.
Alan said: “Now we’re going to finish now…”
Then the breakfast star said: “You’re bored of me already?!” she exclaimed, “That was like the shortest flight ever!”
