National Television Awards 2021 winners list – Coronation Street scoops three gongs

The National Television Awards was back on our screens tonight (September 9), and it was one of the hottest television events of the year.

The glam awards show looked back on the last year of British TV as it celebrated the best stars and shows on offer, with some set to win their categories and take home gongs.

Comedian Joel Dommett hosted the star-studded award ceremony, which was being broadcast live from London’s O2 Arena on ITV1.

Some of the categories included TV Presenter, New Drama, Returning Drama, Quiz Show, Drama Performance and Authored Documentary.

The TV Presenter category was crammed full of huge showbiz names, with Ant & Dec winning the award for the 20th time over the likes of Holly Willoughby, Piers Morgan, Bradley Walsh and Alison Hammond.

The emotional night also saw Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway win Best Authored Documentary for Finding Derek, a powerful piece which focused on her husband’s ill health during the pandemic.

The incredible win led to the journalist breaking down in tears on stage as she accepted the award.
