Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has shared a glimpse inside her family’s Christmas celebrations.
The popular mum-of-nine spent Christmas with her large family on their 2,000-acre farm, Ravenseat, and ensured she kept her fans and followers updated with what they got up to over the festive period.
Taking to Instagram and Twitter, Amanda made sure her fans saw what she and her family got up to – from gathering firewood, to feeding the sheep, and heading out on winter rambles, the Owen family’s Christmas looked like something out of a movie.
Christmas Day saw the family go for a snowy walk across their fields to feed their sheep, and on Boxing Day they set off on another winter walk while son Reuben enjoyed a ride on Hazel the horse.
In one of the snaps that she posted, Amanda could be seen ‘rugby tackling’ a lamb while treating and tending to it.
She captioned the carousel of photos: “I see ewe. A few cases of blind illness amongst the sheep needing treatment.
“Wind, snow and hay seeds make for irritation and infection.
“Only need one treatment and they are cured but they are fiendishly difficult to catch when their vision is limited.”
She continued: “The shepherds crook comes into play in times such as these.”
One fan commented: “Superwoman, you could play rugby for England.”
Another penned: “Great rugby tackle you’ll be getting signed up next.”
While a third said: “Bloody ell Amanda! You are one strong woman!”
Tucking in to a delicious meal of leftover turkey, chips and stew on Boxing Day, the family enjoyed all of the home comforts of a traditional Christmas that fans were incredibly envious of.
This comes after the 47-year-old shepherdess left her fans in hysterics after she fumed over misplacing something last Christmas, but finding it again one year later.
Last Christmas Amanda misplaced a giant Toblerone, but on Boxing Day when she opened the hatch of her large antique-looking grandfather clock, she found the chocolatey treat.
Hidden inside of the large clock, Amanda took to Twitter to share the mishap with her fans, leaving them in hysterics.
Amanda recently opened up about her life on the farm to Lorraine, saying: “You have your difficult moments. But you have to take the rough with the smooth.
“We’ve just talked about how you weather a storm. So we are pretty resilient in the hills.
“That’s all you’ve got to do. You’ve got to remember, the bottom line is, if you are proud of what you’re doing, you kind of sort of have to shoulder it.”
